The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill has finally been updated. It now boasts a 14″ dual 2.4ghz full HD rotating touch screen, an improved sound system, and ActivePulse, a cruise control for your heart; a system from Nordictrack that controls the speed and incline of the treadmill to maintain your optimal heart-rate zone. These are excellent updates and impressive tech for a treadmill under $2000.

Still, the problem with a lot of these companies is they spend too much money on the tech and forget about the rest of the treadmill, which is something Nordictrack has been known for in the past.
Yeah, all the tech looks great, and it’s useful to a point, but what’s most important when spending this kind of cash on a treadmill is the essentials – belt size, build quality, incline, and power.
Do You Get Enough For $2k?
This is one of NordicTrack’s most popular treadmills, and there’s a good reason it sells so well; despite having iFit and some of the best tech you’ll find on a $2k treadmill, it’s actually a good treadmill. You get a commercial-size belt, an excellent 30 level 15% power incline, and its heavy, weighing 330lb. This thing feels solid, and you know when a treadmill is this heavy, it’s a good sign they used quality materials in the build.
There are a few drawbacks with the 1750 treadmill, the ultra-quiet motor is only 3.5HP which is slightly disappointing, and you can only use that nice 14″ touch screen with iFit and the built-in workout programs. You can’t load any other apps, but these are minor drawbacks not deal killers.
Overall this treadmill impresses me for the price, and today I want to take a look at everything it offers.

Why Do We Like The NordicTrack Commerical 1750 Treadmill?
The reason I love this treadmill is that it’s an all-round winner. You have all the tech, but it’s got all the essentials right too. And my favorite feature has to be the size of its running belt. Maesrung 22″ x 60″ is about as good as you’ll find on any treadmill. This is commercial size and will feel the same as treadmills you’ve used in your local gym.
Suitable For Users UpTo 6’4″
The size of the running belt is the most important feature to consider when buying a treadmill, as it determines who can use the machine and for what. A running belt this size is suitable for most people, with a max height for running of 6’4″.
And with a 22″ belt width matched only by the sole F85 in this price bracket, you won’t have any problems with stepping off the machine in the middle of a session either. A wide belt is exactly what you need, giving you the space to feel confident when running at pace.
Is There Enough Power For Runners?
We already know the NordicTrack 1750 has the belt size to accommodate most people’s needs, whether you want to run half marathons, full marathons, or run at pace, but do you have the power? Yes, 3.5HP, from my experience, is powerful enough to cope with anything.
The only time you’ll have a problem with a treadmill motor under 4HP is with weight. So it’s a good idea to stay under the max capacity of this treadmill. 3.5HP isn’t suitable for 400-450lb users. It will burn out early. You need 4HP+ for heavy users.
Build And Strengthen Your Glutes and Calves With 15% Incline & 3% Decline
A decent incline feature on a treadmill is essential if you want to get the most out of your cardio sessions. It brings something extra to your workouts. Even at a 10% incline, you’ll burn 3 x as many calories as jogging on a flat surface, and best of all, you’ll build and strengthen those hard-to-train muscles such as your calves and glutes, and hamstrings.
NordicTrack Treadmills are known for their excellent auto inclines. The commercial 1750 has one of the most impressive auto inclines on the market, boasting a 30-level 15% incline; you can adjust the incline via the one-touch buttons on the monitor.
Control Console With Sixteen Thousand Workouts
You can’t review any Nordictrack Treadmill without mentioning IFIT. Im not going to go into detail about IFIT, but I’ll say what I think is cool about the app. The Auto Adjust is its coolest feature; whatever studio class you choose, the instructor will automatically adjust the speed and incline to suit the workout.
Google Maps – Global Routes
The machine also auto-adjusts for Good Maps, this is a feature that allows you to jog/run anywhere in the world, and the machine will auto-adjust the speed and incline to the terrain you’re running on. Great stuff. In short, there are 1000s of workouts from instructor-led to global routes. You’ll never get bored with IFIT.
One Touch Buttons
Another feature of this monitor I really liked was how easy it is to use; the one-touch buttons are great as they save you from having to scroll through menus etc. The new large 14″ HD tilt touch screen is fantastic, with really crisp graphics. It looks great and is something you won’t find on other $2k treadmills.
And with Bluetooth wireless, heart rate capabilities, and the new ActivePulse feature, you won’t find a fuller featured monitor than this one for the price point.
Still, unless you love iFit, that new beautiful 14″ touch screen isn’t going to be much use as the console’s HD screen isn’t compactable with other any other apps. And there are only a few built-in workout programs to choose from if not subscribed to IFIT, which is dissipating. Basically, this treadmill is designed for the IFIT app.
Reduces Impact on Your Joints
What I like about the deck cushioning system on the 1750 treadmill is that it’s adjustable. This is important, especially for road runners who don’t want soft cushioning and needs to replicate road conditions on the treadmill.
Most people, however, will want to keep the deck cushioning system on the soft setting as this will protect your joints from the impact of each foot strike. The Nordictrack cushioning system works well. It’s one of the better systems on the market, and it said to reduce the impact on joints by a whopping 40%
Anything Else Worth Mentioning?
This treadmill has a large footprint and a heavy running deck, so a folding system is essential. Thankfully, Nordictrack has a folding system they call EasyLift Assist system. This is a hydraulic folding system. The hydraulics do all the work for you. You can fold the running deck with a single hand. It’s that easy. And once folded, almost halves the treadmill footprint.
Also, I should mention that there are a couple of cooling fans under the monitor screen. These can be controlled via buttons underneath the fans.
And lastly, if you want to take advantage of Nordictrack’s new ActivePulse feature ( Cardio Cruise Control enables auto-adjustments in incline and speed based on heart rate). You’ll have to buy the SmartBeat™ heart rate monitor separately (from NordicTrack).
Do I need a Treadmill Mat?
Most people buy a treadmill mat because it prevents lightweight treadmills from slipping on polished surfaces when exercising. You won’t have that problem with eh Noridtcrack Commerical Treadmill. It weighs over 300lb, and that weight keeps it planted to the floor. Still, heavy treadmills will scratch polished floors, so if you want to protect your floors, a treadmill mat is the best way.
Also, a treadmill mat is a good idea for people who live in apartments, especially if you want to keep your neighbors happy, as a mat will soak up a lot of the vibrations from your workouts.
Sunny Health & Fitness makes the best cheap treadmill mats, and you’ll need a large mat for this machine. Click the link below to view on Amazon.
Assembly 3 People Recommended (1 hour)
Assembly for the NordicTrack Treadmill isn’t particularly tricky, but you’ll need a couple of extra hands to move the treadmill in place as it’s a large treadmill, and the box weight is 340lb.
Just like most treadmills, the running deck comes fully assembled. All you’ll need to do is attach the two front masts, the accessory tray, and the dashboard with the console. This takes most people just under an hour. All assembly instructions are provided, and so are all the tools for the job.

Alternative

Sole F85 Treadmill
The top 2 treadmills in this price range are the Nordictrack 1750 and the Sole F85 treadmill. Both treadmills are very similar, boasting impressive commercial-sized running belts, both have excellent 30-level 15% power inclines, hydraulic folding systems, and both are heavy solid machines with commercial frames. The Sole weighs 310lb.
The only significant difference between these two treadmills are the monitors, the Sole f85, although updated last year, only has a 10″ LCD touchscreen. It’s not HD, and it doesn’t have a tilt function.
The Sole is a more simple machine it doesn’t include a whole lot of tech, but that’s not what Sole Fitness is all about. These guys, rather than focus on the techy stuff and paid fitness apps, prefer to focus on the important things like build quality, and that is where this treadmill shines, as do most Sole Treadmills.
These guys are known for the qulkaity of their treadmills. If you want a treadmill that’s going to last, it’s always worth checking Sole Fitness out first.
Also, you get a more powerful motor with the Sole F85, a 4HP ultra quiet motor that allows this machine to accommodate larger users up to 400lb. It’s an excellent choice for heavy users. In fact, the Sold F85 won an award as the best treadmill for heavy runners.
This is the treadmill to buy if you’re not interested in paid subscriptions like IFIT. It’s a well-built, serious treadmill designed for runners and heavy use.
To Sum Up
I was impressed with Nordictracks 1750 commercial treadmill. It’s not all about the tech and fitness apps. They really have thought about the rest of the treadmill with the 1750. The deck size is its best feature, and the build quality is there, too. The new upgrades are impressive. The 14″ HD rotating screen is superb, and so too are all the auto-adjust features.
Yeah, NordicTrack got almost everything right with their treadmill, although I feel to make the absolute most of the treadmill and all its features, including that new screen, you really need to be subscribed to IFIT, which is quite expensive at $39 a month.
