I love iFit because it pushes you to train harder, and you never run out of new challenges as there are over seventeen thousand workouts you can stream, but finding the best treadmill with iFit can be a headache as there’s so much choice. In all the years I’ve been reviewing them, the two main companies that make iFit treadmills must have released over 20 treadmills.

The good thing about this year is that all the treadmills have been updated, so you’ll get your hands on all the latest tech, which includes those impressive HD smart touchscreens.

3 Treadmills That Stand Out

As with a lot of companies that make fitness gear, some of their products are much better than others. And it’s the same with iFit and their treadmills. Once in a while, they bring out a treadmill that shines much brighter than anything they have made before and anything else on the market. And there are three treadmills right now that stand out way above the competition.

And those three treadmills are the ones we’ll focus on today. The (Best Overall) NordicTrack’s 1750 commercial, the (Best Mid-level) NordicTrack’s EXP 10i, and the (best low cost) the Weslo Candice 5.9i. These treadmills offer great value for money and are market beaters in their respective price brackets.

If you’re in a rush, you can check out the comparison table below. If you have more time, please read our review summaries for each treadmill and check out our Buyers’ Tips that follow the reviews.

Best Treadmill With iFit Reviews

man jogging on NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill

1. NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill (best overall)

The NordicTrack 1750 has been my favorite treadmill for years, and the reason why I like this machine so much is because it includes everything of the higher-end NordicTrack Treadmills but just comes with a slightly smaller screen. It’s the diamond in the rough of the NordicTrack treadmills; you’re not paying an extra $400-$600 for an overly large screen.

I find the 14″ screen of the NordicTrack 1750 easily big enough to view iFit; it’s crisp, it rotates, and it tilts, its an excellent HD touchscreen for a treadmill, and you save yourself a lot of bucks, and you’re not missing out on any of the essentials.

The Essentials

Let’s talk about some of the essentials because they’re impressive with this treadmill; the running belt is a full-size commercial belt. It measures 22″ x 60″. This is the perfect size for a treadmill belt, a 60″ belt will allow users up to 6’1″ to run on the treadmill and users up to 6’3″ to jog on the treadmill, so unless you’re exceptionally tall, you won’t have any issues with the size the of the treadmill belt.

It’s also a wide belt, which is important because it will prevent you from stepping off the side of the treadmill in the middle of a session. The extra width will also give you the confidence to run at pace. It’s not going to feel any different from treadmills you’ve used in your local gym, as they too use 22″ x 60″ belts

And you have the best incline decline feature on any treadmill under $2000. This thing boasts a 30-level 15% incline and 3% decline.

Hill running will bring an extra challenge to your workouts. It burns three times more calories than running on flat and builds and strengthens those hard to train muscles like your glutes, hamstrings, and calves. Owning a treadmill with a decent incline is essential if you want to get the most out of your sessions.

Heavy Solid Machine

This is a 310lb treadmill. It’s heavy for the price point, which is what you want, it tells us this machine is made from quality materials, and that extra weight keeps the machine stable; it feels solid, there’s no movement when exercising, you won’t get closer to a commercial feel for under $2000.

Yes, the 1750 has it all, a commercial-size belt, excellent incline, heavy-duty build, and a 3.5CPH motor. These are all the essentials you need for a home treadmill, essentials that allow you to use this treadmill for jogging and running as it has the power, the build, and the belt size.

The Good

Sturdy build – no movement

14″ HD smart tilt and pivot toucscreen

Impressive 15% (30 level) incline and 3% decline

Dual 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity

Bluetooth headphone & heart rate connectivity

Adjustable deck cushioning – choose between soft and firm – great for road runners

Auto – adjust – allows the trainers of iFit to adjust the speed and incline for you

Free month of iFit

High quality ultra quiet 3.5CHP motor

Built-in transport wheels, speakers, cooling fan – hydraulic folding system

The Bad

NordicTrack customer service is known to be slow

You have the buy the heart rate chest strap separately

Difficult to move – it’s heavy!

2. NordicTrack EXP 10i Treadmill (best mid-level)

The NordicTrack EXP 10i isn’t as heavy duty as the Commercial 1750, it weighs 100lb less, but for a mid-level treadmill, this machine is impressive.

The EXP Series is a new series of treadmills from NordicTrack, and I can say for once these guys got everything right with this series. They boast Impressive HD screens and still deliver on all the essentials, something you won’t find with other mid-level treadmills.

The EXP 10i offers the best value out of the mid-level treadmills from NordicTrack and ProForm, as this machine boasts some really impressive features for the price point. The running belt is large; it’s 20″ x 60″, which means it’s not far off commercial size. You also get a 12% power incline and 3% decline, a 10″ tilt touchscreen, a 3.5CHP motor, and a top speed of 12mph.

It’s one of the only mid-level treadmills you can buy that can be used for light running because you have power, the belt size, and a pretty heavy build at 220lb. Of course, you get all the other features, such as auto-adjust, cooling fans, and adjustable deck cushioning.

It’s a full-featured treadmill for under $1500; if you’re a jogger, the EXP 10i is an excellent cheaper alternative to 1750. With the EXP 10i, you still have all the tech and the belt size; it’s only the build that isn’t so heavy duty which is why it’s a better choice for joggers, buts it’s still a sturdy machine for the money.

The Good

10″ smart HD touchscreen with tilt

3.5CPH ultra quiet motor

12% incline and 3% decline

Deck cushioning reduces the impact of each footstrike by up to 40%

Soft drop folding system (hydrolics)

Built-in transport wheels, speakers, cooling fan, BlueTooth

The Bad

Not for serious runners – designed for light running and jogging

Doesn’t include wireless heart rate monitoring

side view weslo cadence 5.9i treadmill

3. Weslo Cadence 5.9i Treadmill (best low-cost)

There’s no HD screen or power incline with this low-cost iFit treadmill, but considering this treadmill costs under $300, you wouldn’t expect there to be. This is a budget treadmill suitable for walking and light jogging. It’s the most popular low-cost treadmill on the market and has been for years.

This machine is so popular because it boasts a 50″ running belt, which is almost unheard of in this price range. I’ve reviewed many budget treadmills, and most have belts in the low 40s”.

And unlike many budget treadmills, you get an incline feature which is excellent news, so you’ll be able to burn off some extra calories.

The monitor is basic. It’s a 5″ LCD. Still, this machine is iFit enabled, so you’ll be able to use your tablet with the Weslo 5.9i, and then you’ll have thousands of workouts to stream.

Surprisingly this $300 treadmill includes a deck cushioning system for joint protection and a hydraulic folding system. It’s really an impressive little treadmill for the price point.

But what I like most is that it’s equipped with a 2.25HP motor. This is powerful for such an affordable treadmill. You’ll be able to use this treadmill for walking and jogging.

The Weslo Cadence 5.9i offers great value for money. Yea, it is basic, but the 50″ belt, 2.25 motor, and that its iFit enabled sets this budget treadmill apart from its competition.

The Good

Well made for price bracket, users have praised how stable it feels

50″ belt suitable for jogging up to 6ft

Basic easy to use monitor that includes built-in workout programs and is iFit enabled

Includes a 3-way manual incline

2.25HP motor

Deck cushioning system

Folds for easy storage

Built-in transport wheels

The Bad

The monitor screen is quite small, making it difficult to read while exercising

Narrow belt, more risk of stepping off the side of the treadmill in the middle of a session

proform pro 9000 treadmill showing large 22" screen

4. ProForm Pro 9000 Treadmill (large screen)

Because ProForm is owned by the same company as NordicTrack, you’ll find their treadmill are very similar. The ProForm Pro 9000 is a kind of ProForm version of the NoridicTracks commercial series, except ProForm like to provide larger screens while NordicTrack provides larger running belts and more heavy-duty builds.

The Pro 9000 is ProForm’s top of the line treadmill and costs just under $2000. Similar price to the Commercial 1750 from NordicTrack.

The Pro 9000, however, boasts a large 22″ HD touchscreen. Basically, it shares all the same tech as the NordicTrack Commercial series, such as auto adjust, cooling fans, wireless heart rate monitoring, quick touch buttons, etc.

Still, the Pro 9000 has a slightly less impressive belt measuring 20 x 60″, nearly full size. You’re just losing a bit of width. Also, you have a 12% power incline, not the 15% of the Commercial 1750, and lastly, this machine weighs around 230lb out of the box compared to the NordicTrack, which weighs 310lb which is quite a difference.

The NordicTrack treadmill is better suited to running than the ProForm Pro 9000. The 1750 is a heavier machine with a slightly wider belt which is useful for people who want to run at pace.

It’s really down to you, would you prefer the 22″ screen of the ProForm Pro 9000 or the more heavy-duty build of the 1750 with the better incline and larger belt? It’s a tough choice, I know I’d choose the NoridTrack 1750, but if you’re someone who only really needs a treadmill for jogging and light running and wants that impressive 22″ screen, then the ProForm Pro 900 is an excellent choice, this isn’t a machine that’s going to leave you wanting.

The Good

Largest Touchscreen on any treadmill under $2000

Decent build quality for price point – its sturdy, weighs over 230lb

12% power incline and 3% delline

Duel speakers and BlueTooth

Good size running belt – suitable for users up to 6’1″ for light running and 6’3″ for jogging

3.5CPH Mach Z motor

Deck cushioning system

Hydrolic folding system

Built-in transport wheels, workout fan and bottle holder

The Bad

PorForm just like NordicTrack are known for slow customer service

Deck cushioning isn’t adjustable

Doesn’t come with HR chest strap

side view of Proform L6 city treadmill

5. ProForm L6 City Treadmill

There are a lot of fold-flat treadmills on the market, and the problem with most of them is that they’re lightweight, which makes them feel unstable, and nearly all only have a top speed of 4mph which means they can only be used for walking.

The ProForm L6 Treadmill is a high-end fold flat treadmill, it weighs 120lb which is nearly twice as much as the competition, and it boasts an 8mph top speed. So you can use this machine for walking and light jogging.

However, this is a compact treadmill, and with compact treadmills come short running belts, which means the max height for jogging on the L6 is around 5’8″, and for walking, 6’2″

Fold flat treadmills like this are compact machines, they fold nearly flat so can be stored under a bed or against a wall. All you need to do is fold the raiser. It’s effortless.

And Because this treadmill uses a raiser, the design only allows for a basic monitor, and that is what we have here; you have a 5″ LCD screen that shows your workout stats like time, distance, and speed. It’s a pretty simple design, but it is iFit enabled, so you’ll be able to stream all your favorite iFit workouts, and it can be used with the auto adjust for the speed.

As I already mentioned, the L6 is a much more impressive fold flat treadmill than most on the market, but it does come at an extra cost, while most fold flats cost around $400, the L6 is priced at $599. Still, it is worth it because you benefit from a more stable build, a higher top speed, and iFit.

A good treadmill choice for people who are tight on space.

The Good

More sturdy than most compacts

Easy to set up and use, no assembly

Compact size makes it a great option for people in shared rooms, small apartments or anyone whos tight on space

Sync with iFit though your phone of tablet

Almost silent in operation, you wont disturb yourself or other around you

Suitable for walking and jogging

Deck cushioning

The Bad

Basic monitor

Not suitable for large heavy users

Might seem pricey compared to other fold flat treadmills

Buyers Tips

If this is your first treadmill, it’s always a good idea to know what to look out for and what to avoid. Here is a quick two-minute buyer’s guide you can read, which should hopefully give you some valuable tips.

Running Belt Size

The size of the running belt is probably the most important feature you should consider when choosing a treadmill. The size of the belt will determine who can use the treadmill and for what.

Commercial-size running belts measure 22″ x 60″. When choosing a treadmill for your home, you want to get as close to this size as possible. Large belts give you more space to exercise and allow you to run on the treadmill, which is almost impossible with short, narrow belts.

  • Treadmills costing between $800 – 1000 should come with belts measuring at least 50″ in length and 18″ in width
  • Treadmills Costing between $1000 – 1200 should come with belts measuring at least 55″ in length and 20″ in width
  • Treadmills costing Between $1200 – 2000 should come with belts measuring at least 60″ in length and 20″ in width
  • Treadmills costing between $2000- 3000 should come with belts measuring at least 60″ in length and 22″ in width

Depending on your height, you won’t always need a large treadmill belt. People under 5’10 can run on a treadmill belt measuring 55″, but anyone over this height who is serious about running will need a treadmill belt of 60″ in length or more.

woman running on proform pro 2000 in her home

Power Adjustable Incline

If you can afford it, it’s always better to look for a treadmill with a power adjustable incline as it saves you from having to get off the treadmill and adjust the incline manually. Most treadmill costing over $800 come with a power-adjustable incline.

Anything 10% or over for the incline is excellent for hill running. Also, jogging on a 10% incline will burn three times more calories than jogging on flat. NordicTrack and ProForm treadmills come with some of the best inclines on the market, with 15% 30-level inclines and decline options.

Motors

If you’re a runner, you’ll need a treadmill with at least 3HP, and if you weigh over 300lb, you’ll need a treadmill with at least 4HP as motors really struggle more with weight than speed.

For jogging, I’d still recommend at least 2.25HP, and for walking, at least 1.5HP.

Look for motors that say CHP rather than just HP. Motors that say a 3CHP means they can give you a continuous HP of 3HP, and they can peak at a much higher HP when you need them to. These are high-quality motors that are durable.

Treadmill Weight

The weight of a treadmill is important because you need some weight to keep the machine planted to the floor, and usually, a heavy treadmill is a sign the treadmill is made from quality materials. I recommend you look for a treadmill with a minimum weight of 200lb. This is enough weight to keep things reasonably stable.

A treadmill weight of over 300lb is ideal. These machines feel solid, like the treadmills you use in the gym. Treadmills this heavy typically cost over $2k

Deck Cushioning

I think it’s important to protect your joints at any age, and because running is a high-impact exercise, you’ll need a treadmill with a decent deck cushioning system. NordicTrack and ProForm both have excellent deck cushioning systems that work well, and they will protect your joints from the impact of each foot strike by up to 40%.

NordicTrack offers adjustable deck cushioning on some of their treadmills. This is an excellent feature for runners who want to replicate road conditions indoors, as adjustable deck cushioning allows you to choose firm or soft.

Monitors

Usually, the more money you spend, the more impressive the monitor. There are a few features I feel are important for a monitor. One is that it’s easy to use. Quick touch buttons are great as they save time. Another feature I like to see is the 1/4 mile track feature and wireless heart rate monitoring because it’s much more accurate than the handrail pulse sensors.

As for the screen, I’ve never needed or wanted any of the large 22″ screens you can get on some of these treadmills. 10″ or 14″ is easily big enough to view all your iFit workouts and workout stats.

To Sum Up

Not only is the NordicTrack Commerical 1750 my hands down favorite treadmill on the market, but it’s also the best with iFit. There’s nothing else that comes close. This treadmill boasts all the latest tech and has got all the essentials right. It has a full-size running belt, 310lb build, a powerful motor, a 14″ rotating Tilt Touchscreen, and a 15% power incline for hill running. There isn’t anything else you need. Yes, you could spend more on having a larger HD screen but is it worth it? 14″ is large enough for any treadmill.

And then we have the NordicTrack EXP 10i. The EXP series from NordicTrack is unbeatable in the Mid-level range. No other mid-level treadmill includes a near commercial size belt, power incline, decline, a 230lb build, and a 10″ HD Touchscreen. Yes, it’s not as heavy-duty as the Commercial 1750, but it is $500 cheaper. The EXP 10i is more a treadmill for jogging and maybe some light running. But it is a great choice for those who aren’t serious runners but want to benefit from all the latest tech of the EXP series from NordicTrack.

Best Treadmills With iFit FAQS

Is iFit Only For NordicTrack Treadmills?

iFit is owned by Icon Fitness, which also owns both NordicTrack and ProForm. This is why you always see iFit-enabled treadmills from both of these companies.

Is ProForm Better Than NordicTrack?

After reviewing many products from NordicTrack and ProForm, I would say that NordicTrack products are slightly more heavy-duty than ProForm. Proform tend to make more mid-level machines, and NpordiTrack likes to specialize in higher-end heavier products like their commercial and elite series of products.

How Much is iFit Membership?

Yearly subscriptions to iFit for a family or group of people cost just over $1 a day. If you want to purchase an iFit subscription for one person, it’s much cheaper at just $180 a year.
