These sub-$100 weight benches, like the FitGoods Weight Bench, are getting so popular. I seem to be reviewing more and more of them every week. I was thinking to myself that 5 years ago, it was almost impossible to find a full FID bench for $100, you were looking at $150 to $200 just for an ok one.
So it’s great that in 2026, we’re seeing full FID benches for under $100. Especially good for beginners or anyone getting into lifting at home
Still, not all of them impress. Out of the 30 or so low-cost benches I’ve reviewed so far, only 15 or so were up to par, and the rest I was disappointed with, so yes, like with everything low cost, you need to be careful when choosing.
So Easy to Store and Move
One of the reasons the FitGoods Weight Bench stood out to me was just how easy it is to fold. It literally takes a couple of seconds, and when you compare this to a few of the other benches I reviewed at this price point, while still impressive, they were awkward to fold. Some taking a couple of minutes.
And it really is a big help when a weight bench folds easily, you can fold it up and store it against a wall in a couple of seconds.
Also, what was really handy about the FitGoods Bench is that it’s delivered fully assembled, which is such an awesome help, there’s no assembly to mess around with. It comes delivered to your doorstep fully assembled, nice.
So, yes, definitely a weight bench I feel is worth taking a much closer look at, and today I’m going to take a close look at everything this bench has to offer, including any drawbacks. At the end of the review, I’ll compare it with another fav of mine in this price bracket, as it will be interesting to see how they match up.

Why Do We Like the FitGoods Weight Bench So Much?
There’s so much to like about this bench, as I’ve already mentioned. I love how fast it folds, and it’s great that there’s no assembly, plus the build quality is right up there for a $60 weight bench. Everyone who owns this bench praises the quality for the price, which is always a good thing.
Ladder Adjustment System For The Backpad
But for me, what really sells this bench is the ladder-adjustable back pad.
Ladder adjustment systems are much faster to adjust than the pull-pin type. They’re also more sturdy, can handle more weight, and are less likely to snap under heavy loads.
Pull pin type adjustment systems are a decent choice on more expensive high end commercial benches, i’d say theyre almost as good as a ladder system, just taking longer to adjust, but on the low cost benches because the material used for the pin is much cheaper, the pin is much more likely to snap under heavy loads, and also its slower to adjust and all around less sturdy.
My advice to you is: if you’re going low-cost with your weight bench, always go for a ladder adjustment system for the back pad.

Can the FitGoods Weight Bench Handle 660lb?
I was happy to see the makers of this budget bench didn’t go too crazy when giving the bench it’s max capacity.
So many of the low cost weight benches come with max capacities suitable for semi commerical or commercial weight benches. Which is totally unrealistic for a low-cost, lightweight bench, some boasting as high as 1000lb.
None of the budget benches have the heavy-duty build or commercial grade welds to support such a high weight load regularly.
A lot of sellers like to give these super-high capacities to help sell their bench, when in reality, I doubt they could handle half of what they’re boasting.
So yes, 660lb for a sturdy, well-made bench with a ladder adjustment system, isn’t too far off. But we need to remember the FitGoods bench weighs only 17.3lb, it’s a lightweight bench, it’s not a heavy-duty bench. It falls more in the dumbbell bench category. It’s more of a bench designed for dumbbell workouts, not heavy barbell training inside a power rack.
So while 660lb isn’t too far off what I feel this bench could handle on a daily basis, it’s still a bit unrealistic for a 17.3lb dumbbells bench. A more realistic daily max capacity for this light weight but well made bench would be around 500lb.

5 Position Adjustable Seat
Something else I was surprised to see on this $60 bench was an adjustable seat. So many of the cheaper dumbbell benches don’t include an adjustable seat, which is a big shame, as an adjustable seat is so important for incline pressing and building your pecs.
Without an adjustable seat, your butt will slip down the seat, especially when pressing heavy.
You need an adjustable seat to give you support when pressing. It allows for a stable base to press from. Without that stable base, it’s difficult to maintain proper form and press the heavier dumbbells.
If incline pressing and developing all areas of your chest muscles are important to you, an adjustable seat is a must when choosing a weight bench for home.
And thankfully, with the FitsGood Bench, you’ve got a five-position seat, which is excellent to see on something this low cost, plus it uses a ladder adjustment system, so it’s fast to adjust.
Big thumbs up to FitsGood for including such an important feature, and still keeping the price low.

The Padding is Important Too
The thickness of the seat and backrest padding is more important than many people think, especially if you’re going to be using the bench a few days a week. The padding needs to be right.
What I always reccomend people look for when choosing a bench is padding that isn’t too soft to cause stability issues and not too hard to be uncomfortable and off-putting. The Fitgooods Bench uses a 2″ thickness with their padding, which is about right, it’s not too thin or too thick.

9 Backpad Positions
For the price point, I’m surprised at how versatile this bench is. You’ve got an adjustable seat and a back pad with 9 positions, which is more than enough for all your pressing needs.
The back pad positions include a near 90-degree position for seated shoulder presses and 8 other positions, including decline.
You’ll be able to work your lower middle and upper pecs, which is excellent for a budget bench. You’re basically getting a full FID (flat, incline, decline) bench for around $60.
Anything I Didn’t Like?
The only thing that lets this bench down slightly is its weight. It’s such a light bench, weighing under 20lb, for some that’s a good thing. It’s easy to fold and store thanks to its lightweight build, but for me, its light frame is a negative. When I train on a bench, I like it to feel rock-solid and well-built, like sitting on a tank, almost.
The Fitsgood bench doesn’t feel unstable, in fact, quite the opposite. This is a sturdy little bench, considering, but it still doesn’t have the heavy-duty feel of the more expensive commercial benches. And I wouldn’t expect to at this price point. What I’m trying to say is don’t expect too much in the under $100 price bracket.
If you’re planning on lifting really heavy and need a bench for rack work, a lightweight bench like the Fitsgood bench isn’t the right choice for you.
The Fitsgood Bench has been designed for beginners and intermediate lifters training with light to medium dumbbells at home, and for the price, it’s one of the best I’ve reviewed in a long time. Just don’t expect a heavy-duty bench to turn up on your doorstep.
The Good
Easy to fold and store, takes two seconds, compact design
Well made bench for the price point, and sturdy thanks to the wide stabilizing feet
Ladder adjustment system, much faster to adjust than the pull pin type, and feels more sturdy when lifting
Adjustable seat, great to find this feature on a low cost bench, gives you support when incline pressing
9 adjustable back pad positions including decline, more than enough for all your pressing needs
2″ thick padding, which is just right for a weight bench
Great price for a sturdy, versatile folding dumbbell bench
The Bad
Not suitable for heavy lifting or rack work, it’s a lightweight bench designed for beginners and intermediates
Gap between the seat and the backrest is quite large, might be off-putting for some people
Alternative

Linodi Weight Bench
The Linodi Weight Bench is another fav of mine, and grabbed my attention for the same reasons the Fitgoods Bench did, it’s sturdy and well made for a low-cost dumbbell bench. This is what’s most important when choosing a bench under $100. You need something well-made and, most importantly, sturdy. No one wants to train on a wobbly weight bench.
Just like the Fitgoods Bench, the Linodi Weight Bench boasts those wide stabilizing feet, which gives you that stability. Also, the Linodi Bench is a little heavier than the Fitgoods Bench, which is a good thing, as it really adds to that sturdy feel.
Also, the Linodi Bench comes with the Ladder adjustment system for the back pad, which is great to see, meaning fast adjustment times and peace of mind when you’re lifting heavy, that this thing isn’t going to snap under you.
There are 7 back pad positions in total, which include decline, so it’s another full FID bench, and it includes a 5-position adjustable seat, so you have more than enough back pad and seat positions for your needs. Again, impressive versatility for a sub $100 weight bench.
The Linodi Bench, similar to the Fitgoods Bench, also boasts impressive padding for the seat and backrest with a thickness of 2″, which is what you want.
And the folding system is fast, yes, I must mention the folding system, because it impresses with its speed of adjustment, another 2-second folding system, which makes folding and storing this bench a breeze.
Overall, the Linodi Bench is another standout bench in this price range. The Linodi Bench costs a little more than the Fitsgood Bench, but that’s because it has a slightly heavier build and feels just a touch higher quality. Still, Linodi has kept the price tag under $100, which is great to see.
To Sum Up
It’s tough finding a decent weight bench for under $100. I’ve been reviewing weight benches for over a decade, and I’ve found that most low-cost benches are poorly made and unstable.
Still, there are a few good ones, really good ones, and the Fitgoods Bench is one of them. For around $60, you’re getting a full FID bench that’s well-made and stable.
It even boasts an adjustable seat with 5 positions, which is excellent at this price point, and a feature even beginners will benefit from.
But I feel what’s going to sell this bench to a lot of people is its compact design, it’s easy to move, you can use it in most rooms, even a small bedroom, and it folds, so it can be stored against a wall.
If this is your first weight bench, you can’t go wrong with it. For the price, I feel the Fitgoods Bench is a steal. It boasts everything you need for dumbbell workouts at home, an excellent choice for beginners or anyone who wants a sturdy, compact bench to take their dumbbell workouts to the next level.
