Quick Verdict
I was honestly impressed with the Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench. I loved that you can use the bench with the 1″ and 2″ weight plates and, most importantly, the barbell rack supports both the standard 6ft barbells and the Olympic 7″ barbells, which is a big plus.
It’s a sturdy bench for the price, with no annoying wobbles. Still, there are no spotter bars, so safety is an issue if you want to lift heavy on your own, and the seat isn’t adjustable, which is a shame.
Ancheer has been around for a few years, they’re not a big company, but what they produce is pretty good.
I’ve reviewed most of their gear, and they always seem to deliver on both quality and price. It’s not high-end stuff, and it’s not going to last you decades, but if you’re on a budget, Ancheer are definitely one of the better companies to go to if you’re looking for low-cost gym gear.
And for $130, the Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench impressed me. Yeah, it’s a long way off from being heavy-duty, and it’s missing a couple of important features, but the drawbacks aren’t deal-breakers in this price range. You can’t expect too much.
What’s most important when buying a budget bench is that the bench is sturdy, the last thing you want when buying any weight bench is a wobbly bench, it’s off-putting when you’re lifting, and it’s dangerous.
Thankfully, the Ancheer Bench doesn’t suffer from stability issues. Ancheer has designed this one well. It’s a one-piece design, which means the bench is attached to the barbell rack, creating a much more solid setup than two-piece designs.

Who is the Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench Best For?
As I already mentioned in the intro, this is a budget light-weight Olympic Weight Bench, and yes, it is an impressive, well-made weight bench for the price point, but it just doesn’t have the heavy-duty build or welds of the more expensive semi-commercial and commercial Olympic benches, so it’s not a bench designed for serious lifters, lifting heavy.
However, the Ancheer Olympic Bench is great for:
- Beginners building their first home gym, wanting to make the transition from dumbbell workouts to heavier barbell lifts
- It’s a folding weight bench, great for people tight on space, those with small apartments, or those with compact workout spaces.
- People on a budget. $130 is a great price for a well-made Olympic Weight Bench
- Bench press and squat training on a budget
So far, I’m liking this Olympic Bench, okay, there are a few drawbacks which I’ll get into in more detail later, but overall the positives outweigh the negatives with this one, and for $130, there just isn’t a better Olympic weight bench out there in this price bracket.
It’s certainly a bench I want to take a closer look at. In today’s Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench Review, we’ll take a close look at everything this bench has to offer, including those drawbacks.
Also, don’t miss our comparison of the Acnheer bench with another fav of ours in the under $200, the Marcy MWB-4491 Olympic Bench, at the end of the review. It will be interesting to see how these two match up.

Why Do We Like The Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench?
What I like most about this low-cost Olympic bench is the design. So many of the Olympic benches I’ve reviewed are restricted to using just Olympic-size plates and bars, but with the Ancheer bench, you have the choice.
The bench comes with Olympic adaptors for the leg extension and the storage horns.
Also, the barbell rack takes the standard 6ft bar or the 7.2″ Olympic bar. This is a really handy feature, especially if you already have a standard barbell and a ton of 1″ weight plates.
Stability is Key When Pressing Heavy Barbells
As I already mentioned, stability is all-important when bench pressing heavy barbells. You need a sturdy bench
But sadly, the main issue that plagues most low-cost Olympic benches is stability. They just dont have that heavy duty 150-lb build to keep them planted to the floor like commercial-grade benches.
A lightweight Olympic bench relies much more heavily on its design for stability, and only a few of the budget Olympic benches get this right, and the Ancheer is one of them.
Firstly, it’s a one-piece design, the bench being attached to the barbell rack, creates a much more solid unit than the two-piece design.
Includes 2 storage Horns (weight plate holders)
Also, look for storage horns when choosing a budget bench. Storage horns (weight plate holders) are a really useful feature. Not only are they great for keeping the weight plates off the floor and closer to the barbell on the rack, but they are also excellent for adding extra weight to the bench.
Load them evenly with plates on each side, and this will add a ton of weight to your Ancheer Olympic Bench, and that extra weight really helps with stability.
- Stability 4/5 80%
- Functionality 4.5/5 85%
Backpad 7 Positions – Includes Decline
I was surprised to see that the Ancheer backpad includes 7 positions, including decline. The reason I’m surprised is that many of the budget Olympic benches I’ve reviewed over the last decade include just 3 or 4 and no decline angle, so to find 7 is a nice surprise.
You have a couple of decline angles, flat, and a few in incline, which is impressive, as you’ll be able to work all areas of your pecs performing decline, flat, and incline bench presses.
Still, the only drawback here is that the backpad doesn’t fully incline; there’s no 90 degrees or near 90 for seated shoulder presses, which is a shame. There’s a 70 degrees, but that’s a little low to work the shoulders fully.
Still, 7 backpad positions for a low-cost Olympic weight bench is excellent, so a big thumbs up from me.

Fast To Adjust
One of my favorite features of this bench is its backpad adjustment system. The Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench uses a ladder style adjustment system for the back pad. The ladder system is much faster to adjust than the pull pin systems.
Also, the ladder adjustment system feels more sturdy under heavy weight loads than the pin pull system, and it’s safer.
With the puin pull system, there’s always that risk that the pin might snap. Especially with cheaply made benches.
If you’re on a budget, I always reccomend choosing a bench with a ladder adjustment system. They’re faster, sturdier, and safer.
No Incline Support – Seat Not Adjustable
I didn’t expect to find an adjustable seat in this price range. It’s rare to find an adjustable seat on a sub $150 Olympic Weight Bench. But it’s a shame because it’s a feature I feel even beginners need.
The reason an adjustable seat is so important is that it stops your butt from slipping down the seat when incline bench pressing.
Without an adjustable seat, your power and your form are affected because you dont have that stable base to press from.
And especially important when pressing heavy in incline.
So yeah, while not a deal-stopper and only really an issue when pressing heavy weights in incline, it’s still something to consider when choosing whether to buy this bench. How important is incline bench pressing for your workout/goals?
- Adjustability 3.5/5 70%

4 Position Barbell Rack
A decent barbell rack with this bench, which includes 4 positions, so you should find one that suits you best. Also, the rack is attached to the bench. It’s a one-piece Olympic bench, so no issues with rack movement.
Obviously, the best feature of the Ancheer barbell rack is that it accepts both 6ft and 7 barbells, which is always a good thing.
And we love that it also has the plate storage horns built into it, which is great for storing your weight plates and adding some much-needed extra weight to the bench for stability.
The only drawback with the Ancheer Barbeel Rack is that there are no spotter bars included.
Spotter bars are really handy safety features because they prevent you from getting pinned under the barbell if you fail on that last heavy rep.
Spotter bars allow you to lift heavy at home safely, and without them, you really do need a friend to spot you on chest day, or when squatting heavy, otherwise you’ll have to hold back on those heavy lifts.
This is quite normal for budget Olympic Weight Benches. I’ve never found an Olympic Weight bench under $150 that includes spotter arms. You need to spend a little more to get these extra features.

Space Saving Design
A feature that’s really going to help sell the Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench is just how easy it is to store. This is an Olympic bench that folds to less than a quarter of its original footprint, which is great news for those of you who are tight on space.
It takes less than a minute to fold this bench, just remove a few pins, and that’s it. You can store it against the wall after each workout. Perfect for apartments or smaller garage gyms that lack space.
- Storage 4/5 80%
Can the Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench handle its 900-lb weight capacity?
One of the issues with budget weight benches and the companies that make them is that they love to boast unrealistic weight capacities to help sell their benches.
And it’s the same with the Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench, you need to remember this is a lightweight, low-cost bench, it’s not designed to cope with super heavy weight loads on a daily basis, it doesn’t have the heavy gauge steel frame or commercial grade welds to deal with such heavy loads.
900lb is unrealistic for a budget Olympic weight bench. Yeah, maybe it could handle that amount of weight a few times, but I wouldn’t risk taking a budget bench that far regularly. I’d keep well below that 900lb capacity just to be on the safe side.
- Weight Capacity 3.5/5 70%
Drawbacks of The Ancheer Olympic Weight Bench
Overall, a lot of weight bench for the price, and it impressed with its sturdy one peice design and the excellent folding system. Still, at this price point, there’s always going to be a few drawbacks, thankfully, nothing major with the Ancheer Bench, just a few minor ones.
- No spotter bars – this means you’ll need a friend or training partner to spot you on heavy lifting days
- Lightweight bench – make sure to load those storage plate horns to give the bench some much needed weight for extra stability
- The seat isn’t adjustable – nothing to prevent your butt from slipping down the bench when incline bench pressing
Easy To Assemble
Most users found the Ancheer Olympic Bench easy to assemble. Because it’s a lightweight bench, the parts aren’t too heavy, so you should be able to assemble it on your own.
The instructions are clear, all the parts are numbered in separate bags, and it shouldn’t take you longer than 30 minutes to assemble.

Marcy MWB-4491 Olympic Weight Bench
For a long time, Marcy has been the go-to company for budget and mid-level Olympic weight benches. When it comes to quality and price, these guys are usually unbeatable.
The Marcy MWB-4491 Olympic Weight Bench is one of their newer releases, and, priced at under $200, it’s aimed at beginners and intermediate lifters. And it’s very similar to the Ancheer bench in that both benches weigh around 50lb, both are well designed, and are attached to the barbell rack, so there are no major stability issues.
And users have mentioned an almost premium feel to the Marcy bench, which is something I often note when I’ve reviewed their gear over the years.
I love that Marcy has used high-density foam for the seat and backpad on this Olympic bench. It’s the gold standard for weight benches, and it’s always a surprise to find it on a budget bench like this.
Still, even though the quality is there with Marcy, it is lacking compared to the Ancheer weight bench. There are no plate storage horns on the Marcy bench, so you can’t add extra weight to it, which is disappointing. There are only 5 adjustable back pad positions, and it doesn’t fold for storage like the Ancheer.
Yes, the Acheer trumps the Marcy bench on a few features. And the Ancheer bench actually costs less, which shows what a good job Ancheer has done with their Budget Olympic Bench.
So, while Marcy has produced another well-made Olympic Budget weight bench, and still certainly better than most in this price bracket, the Ancheer offers even more for the money with a more impressive overall design.
To Sum Up
There really aren’t many Olympic weight benches under $200 on the market right now. Yoleo makes a couple, and there’s Marcy, and there are a few by unknown companies, but the choice is limited, and finding one that’s well-made and includes most of the essentials is rare in this price range.
This is why I was impressed so much with the Ancheer Olympic Bench, yes, it isn’t perfect, but it’s a decent bench. I like that these guys thought to include the storage plate horns, such a handy feature that allows you to add some extra weight and give the bench a much more solid feel.
The backpad includes 7 positions, which is more than enough for all your pressing needs, and it uses a ladder adjustment system, which is fast to adjust, and more sturdy than the pin pull adjustment system. And a folding system that’s also nice and easy to use.
For the price, you get a lot of bench for your money. A great choice for beginners, even intermediates wanting to take their home workouts to the next level.
