What you’ll find with a lot of the low-cost dumbbell benches, like the Orinar Weight Bench, is that they have issues with stability. It’s something that plagues many of the budget benches. But I was surprised to find that the Orinar Weight Bench is pretty sturdy. Many users have praised how stable this bench is, even though it’s a lightweight bench, which is surprising.
And the reason the Orinar Adjustable Bench doesn’t suffer from stability issues is thanks to its design. These guys thought to use wide stabilizing feet, which really helps keep things sturdy, and also the adjustable levellers built into the feet of the bench.
Adjustable levelers are a really handy feature, as you can adjust them to keep your bench stable on uneven surfaces.
So yes, a surprisingly stable bench considering its lightweight build.
However, you have to remember this is a budget dumbbell bench; it’s designed for beginners. Even if the design is pretty stable, it’s not designed for heavy lifting, it just doesn’t have the build quality or the welds. This is a dumbbell workout bench for beginners. Well made and sturdy but a long long way form heavy duty.
Full FID Bench For Under $60!
The Orinar Weight Bench has to be one of the cheapest full FID (flat, incline, decline) benches I’ve ever reviewed. You can work all areas of your pectorals using this bench. You can perform flat presses, incline presses, and decline presses. It’s great to see such a low-cost bench boasting such an important feature.
Only a few years ago, it was almost impossible to find a full FID bench for under $200; now, companies are managing to procure one for well under $100, which is great news for those on a budget.
Yes, a low-cost bench like the Orinar isn’t a high-quality full FID bench for serious lifters, but for a beginner or anyone buying their first bench for home, it’s great to be able to flat, incline, and decline press on your first bench.
When I first started lifting over two decades ago, my first bench only had flat and three levels of incline, and it cost twice as much as the Orinar Weight Bench. So yes, for a first bench, the Orinar Adjustable Bench certainly offers a lot for the price tag.

So far, so good with the Orinar Weight Bench. I like its sturdy design, I love its versatility, and the padding is decent too. Yeah, there are a few drawbacks, which I’ll get into later in the review, but the pros certainly outweigh the cons with this bench.
It’s a bench thats worth taking a much coser look at and today I want to take a close look at evrything it has to offer.
Also, at the end of the review, I want to compare the Orinar Adjustable Weight Bench with another fav of mine in this price bracket, the NicePeople Dumbbell Bench, as it will be interesting to see how these two impressive dumbbell benches match up.

Why Do We Like The Orinar Weight Bench?
The reason a lot of people are going to choose this bench is the price, it’s $60, it’s well made, and it’s stable. For beginners, it’s the perfect choice.
Also, it’s easy to assemble, takes just a few minutes, and it folds, so for anyone who’s tight on space and needs to store their bench after each workout, a lightweight bench like the Orinar Weight Bench is going to be appealing.
To fold this bench, simply remove two pins. It takes a couple of seconds, and once folded, the overall footprint of the bench is more than halved. You can store it against the wall or in a cupboard, and because it’s so lightweight, it’s pretty easy to pick up and move.
Ladder Adjustment System For The Back Pad
I’ve mentioned in the intro that what sells this bench to me is its stable design, which is rare for a budget bench.
I’ve been reviewing weight benches for over 10 years, and I’d say over 50% of the budget benches I review have stability issues. And the last thing you want is an annoying wobble while you’re lifting. Not only is an unstable bench off-putting, but it can also be dangerous. So, to find a $60 well made stable bench like the Orinar Bench is excellent.
Still, it’s not just the sturdy design of this bench that I liked. I was also impressed to see the Orinar Bench uses a ladder adjustment system for the back pad.

The reason a ladder adjustment system is more desirable than the pull pin system, which you find on many of the low-cost benches, is that the ladder adjustment system is much faster to adjust than the pull pin system. Also, it’s sturdier and can handle more weight.
One of the problems with the pull-pin system on cheap weight benches is that the pin can actually snap under heavy weights. I’ve seen it happen.
The pin snapping isn’t such an issue on more expensive, heavy-duty benches, as the quality of the materials is higher. However, with the cheaper benches, I recommend avoiding the pull pin systems for the back pad and opting for the ladder adjustment system, like we have with the Orinar Bench.
Is The Padding Too Thin?
When you buy a weight bench you really want to look for 2″ padding its just the right thickness for a bench. Sadly, you’ll find that on many of the low-cost benches, the padding is a bit thin.
The Orinar Bench includes 1.5″ padding for the back pad and seat, which isn’t too bad, but it is a little uncomfortable when the bench is flat and you’re performing bench presses.
Still, at least the Orinar Bench padding isn’t too soft, which is a good thing because if it were too soft, it would cause stability issues when pressing. For a budget bench, it’s not the best padding I’ve come across, but it’s not the worst either.

The Seat Doesn’t Adjust
One of the major drawbacks of budget dumbbell benches like the Orinar Adjustable Bench is the lack of an adjustable seat. Which is a shame, as I feel it’s such an important feature.
The reason an adjustable seat is so important is that it prevents your butt from slipping down the seat when the backpad is in an incline position. When you’re incline pressing, you need a stable base to press from, without a stable base, it affects your power and your form.
Not having an adjustable seat isn’t going to be a deal breaker for everyone, if you’re not planning on lifting heavy, an adjustable seat isn’t a must, and also if developing your upper pecs isn’t that important to you, then a lack of an adjustable seat shouldn’t affect your training schedule.
An adjustable seat will be important for those who want to lift heavy to help develop and add mass to their upper pectorals. If you’re serious about your training, an adjustable seat is essential for incline pressing with heavy weights.

Can The Orinar Weight Bench Handle 880lb
Most of the budget benches love to boast high weight capacities to help sell them, but in reality, their actual weight capacity would be far less.
We need to remember that all the low-cost benches (under $100) are lightweight benches. The Orinar Bench, weighing just 20lb, doesn’t come with commercial-grade welds and a heavy-duty frame. It’s a budget dumbbell bench targeted at beginners. It’s not made for heavy barbell lifting inside a power rack.
Maybe a weight bench like the Orinar Bench might be able to handle its stated max weight capacity of 880lb a few times, but never on a daily basis.
When you buy a budget bench, especially one under $100, you need to stay way under the stated maximum capacity on the bench.
A more realistic weight capacity for the Orinar Weight Bench would be around 500lb if used on a daily basis. That’s a combined max weight of 300 lb user weight and 200lb lifted weight, which is still more than enough for most people’s needs.
Anything Else Worth Mentioning?
Something else which I thought was impressive about the Orinar Weight Bench was the back pad angles. These guys actually include an 85-degree angle for seated shoulder presses. Most low-cost benches get the angle wrong for seated shoulder press.
They either go too low with something like 70 degrees for a seated shoulder press, which is too low to engage the shoulder muscles fully. Or they go too high with just 90 degrees, which makes you feel like you’re falling forward when pressing the dumbbells.
The ideal angle for seated shoulder presses is anywhere between 80 and 85 degrees. This allows you to arch your back very slightly, which gives you a more stable foundation from which to press.
So, a big thumbs up to Orinar for including the 85-degree back pad position for shoulder presses.
The Good
Full FID bench for under $60
Wide front and rear stabilizing feet and adjustable levellers, keep this bench stable even on uneven floors
Versatile – 7 adjustable back pad positions
Folds for easy storage
5 minute assembly
The Bad
Lack of an adjustable seat
Thin padding
Not suitable for serious lifters
Alternative

NicePeople Dumbbell Bench
The NicePeople Dumbbell bench is one of my favs in the under $100 price bracket. It’s a little more expensive than the Orinar Weight Bench, but you do get more with this bench.
What I first liked about the NicePeople Weight Bench was the padding. This bench uses high-density foam for the padding. High-density foam is the gold standard for weight benches and a surprise to find on a budget bench. High density foam isn’t too hard to be off-putting or too soft to cause stability issues, it’s just right.
Also, the height of the NicePeople Weight Bench in flat position is perfect, it measures 17.4″ from the floor to the top of the padding. This is the same height as commercial flat benches. The reason this is so important is that it allows for correct foot placement.
A height of anywhere between 17 and 18″ will allow you to keep your feet flat on the floor, again creating a more stable base to press from.
So many of the cheap benches are way too high, with some having floor-to-pad heights of 22″; these are the benches you need to avoid.
Also, just like the Orinar Weight Bench, the NicePeople Bench uses the desirable ladder adjustment system. You get 8 back pad positions, including decline, with more than enough back pad angles to meet all pressing needs.
The NicePeople bench folds for storage, very similar to the Orinar Bench. You need to remove the pins to fold, which takes a few seconds.
And assembly is a breeze as the NicePeople Bench is shipped 95% assembled.
Overall, the NicePeople Dumbbell bench is a great choice for beginners. It costs $20 more than the Orinar weight bench, but I feel it’s worth paying the extra for the added upgrade and how good this bench is in flat.
To Sum Up
I wasn’t disappointed with the Orinar Weight Bench, I was actually quite impressed with what the bench offers for just $60. To find a sturdy full FID bench for that price is great, as most benches at this price point suffer from wobbles.
Also excellent to see the ladder adjustment system for the back pad and the 85-degree angle for seated shoulder presses.
There wasn’t really anything there that I’d call a deal breaker, the lack of an adjustable seat could be an issue for more serious lifters, but apart from that, there isn’t anything to fault about this bench, especially considering the price.
Certainly one of the better low-cost benches I’ve reviewed.
