I’m not a huge fan of under-desk treadmills, most are lightweight, which makes stability an issue, and most lack power and an incline feature. Still, out of the 20 or so desk treadmills out there, a couple have impressed me: the Goplus 2 in 1 and the HccSport Treadmill.

The reason the HccSpott Treadmill impresses more than most is the build quality. It’s not a 50lb lightweight, cheap walking pad. This thing weighs over 80lb, which is heavy for such a compact machine, that extra weight really helps with stability. The HccSport Treadmill feels sturdy even when jogging.

Many users have praised its stability when exercising. This is great to hear and surprising for an under-desk treadmill.

Powerful 3.5HP Brushless Motor

I wasn’t expecting to find a 3.5HP motor. This is a powerful motor for such a small treadmill. And one of the reasons this machine costs a little more than the other under-desk treadmills on the market. But it’s worth it. A powerful motor will last longer. It will cope with the stress of fast-paced workouts with ease and won’t burn out after a few months.

Also, the motor is brushless. This type of motor tends to last longer than the brushed motors. Also, they’re a lot quieter in operation, which is great if you live in an apartment and don’t want to disturb others with the sound of your workouts.

3 modes of Hccsport treadmill

This is certainly a treadmill I want to take a closer look at. It’s powerful, built well, includes an incline, and is easy to move and store. Yes, there are a few drawbacks, like the short running belt and basic monitor, which we’ll talk about later, but overall,  I’m impressed.

Why Do We Like The HccSport Treadmill?

I’ve already mentioned the best feature of this treadmill is its powerful motor.

3.5HP motors are usually reserved for large mid-high-end treadmills, so it’s great to see such a powerful motor featured on an under-desk treadmill. A motor this powerful will cope with walking, jogging, and even running with ease.

Burn Twice As Many Calories

Still, its not just the treadmill motor that has impressed me with the HccSport treadmill, another feature I loved was the incline. You don’t see many incline features on desk treadmills, so it was a nice surprise. The HccSport treadmill comes with a 2-level manual incline with a max of 6%.

The reason an incline future is essential is that it adds so much more to your workout.

Jogging on an incline can double the number of calories you burn. Also, incline walking or jogging works and tones those hard to-train muscles such as your calves, glutes, and hamstrings. It really is an essential feature and one I hope you make the most of if you purchase this machine.

The incline is manually adjusted in the HccSport treadmill. You won’t find power adjustable inclines in this price range.

And yes, it’s the build quality that really sells the HccSport treadmill; I’ve reviewed many under-desk treadmills, and it’s their lightweight, cheap builds that let them down.

The HccSport treadmill is sturdy. It weighs more than most. Still, it’s not too heavy that you need two people to move the thing. However, there is enough weight to keep the treadmill planted to the floor, which is important; the sturdier the build, the better. It’s a sign of quality.

Something else I wanted to mention is the detachable desktop. Of course, this isn’t the most important of features, but I liked it. I was surprised you can fit a laptop on it quite easily, and it’s stable, it doesn’t move around. So, if you want to walk and do some work at the same time, this is a handy feature. Takes just a couple of second to fit and remvove.

Short Running Belt – Suitable Only For Walking and Jogging

One of the drawbacks of all desk treadmills is the short running belt. Under-desk treadmills are compact machines designed to store easily and fit under desks. They’re not heavy-duty machines for serious runners. They are designed for walking and light jogging. And this is why all have short running belts.

The length of the HccSport running belt is 42″, which gives you a max height for jogging of around 6ft. Any taller than this and you will need a longer running belt to accommodate the larger stride. Still, a 42″ running belt is impressive for a desk treadmill. I’ve reviewed some that have just 36″.

So yes, if you’re serious about running, it’s not a good idea to choose an under-desk machine. You’ll need something larger.

However, if you’re looking for a treadmill for light cardio, burning some calories, and walking while you work, under-desk treadmills are ideal, especially the HccSport Treadmill, as it comes with that handy detachable desktop.

Decent Monitor With 12 Workout Programs

In this price bracket, we won’t come across advanced monitors with HD screens or VR options.

Monitors on low-cost treadmills and under-desk treadmills are always basic. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as basic monitors are easy to set up and use. You won’t be sitting there trying to work out how to use the monitor for an hour.

Most of the time, advanced features on treadmills don’t get used. I find them a waste of money. Simple is enough. The HccSport monitor is a simple monitor but tracks all your essential workout data such as time, distance, calories, and speed. You also get a speaker, and the buttons are nice and large, making them easy to press while you’re exercising.

What I found useful about the handlebar/monitor of the HccSport treadmill was the adjustable feature. It’s really handy, especially when using the detachable desktop. You can adjust it to a height you feel comfortable with.

Also, when you want to use the treadmill without the handlebars, you can fold them down, takes a few seconds.

Once folded, you can use the second monitor that is built into the front of the running deck and the remote control to adjust the speed. A cool wristband remote is included.

Lastly, you get 12 built in workout programs. It is always good to have a few built-in workout programs; workout programs challenge you and keep you coming back for more. Plus, workout programs are great for keeping away the boredom of long cardio sessions on the treadmill.

6 Shock Absorbers (anti-shock system)

All well-made treadmills should come with some sort of anti-shock system for the running belt. The HccSport treadmill includes 6 shock absorbers positioned under the running belt. Also, you have a 5-layer, not slip belt, which will aid the cushioning of each footstrike.

This is a fairly good system for a desk machine and should absorb around 30% of the impact of each strike, excellent for protecting your joints and one of the reasons maybe people prefer to jog inside on a treadmill rather than run on high-impact surfaces like roads.

Assembly and Storage

Assembly is a breeze with the HsccSports Treadmill as everything comes preassembled. All you have to do is unbox it and move it to a suitable place. Ensure there’s enough room around the treadmill to get on and off safely.

This is a compact treadmill, so storage is one of its selling points. All you need to do is fold the handlebars down, tilt, and roll on the built in transport wheels. You can either store this treadmill up against a wall or under a bed or sofa.

Something I forgot to mention was that this treadmill also includes four adjustable feet. Great for keeping the treadmill flat on uneven floors, it’s a useful feature that many treadmills do not include.

Lastly, the treadmill running belt comes lubricated from the factory. I always think its a good idea to give them some extra lubrication before first time use. Just in case they forgot at the factory. Better to be safe.  And remember to centre the belt before the first use.

GoPlus 2 in 1 Treadmill

GoPlus recently updated their top selling 2 in 1 desk treadmill. The update included some handy new features, such as a new control panel built into the top handlebar, Bluetooth, and an extra speaker.

The second control panel is an excellent new addition to this machine. Before,  the GoPlus could only boast a remote control and a small LCD screen built into the running pad, which was impossible to view when the treadmill was used under the desk. So well done, GoPlus, for listening to their customers.

Still, what sells this machine is its build quality, which is why it’s always been one of my favourite under-desk treadmills. This machine weighs over 70lb, which is at least 20lb heavier than most of the compensation, and it’s a telling sign this treadmill is made from quality materials.

Just like the HccSport treadmill, it feels much sturdier than most under-desk treadmills with handlebars. It doesn’t have that cheaply made feel about it. It’s a nice bit of kit for your home gym.

The running belt is quite short on the GoPlus treadmill, just like all the under-desk treadmills. Its been designed for walking and light jogging.

Similar to the HccSport Treadmill, the GoPlus includes fold-down handlebars, which means it can be used as an under-desk treadmill for walking. It’s super easy to fold and takes a couple of seconds.

The GoPlus treadmill does lack an incline, which is a shame, and the motor isn’t as powerful as the HccSport treadmill, but the GoPlus comes in $70 cheaper, so if you want to keep under the $300, the GoPlus 2-1 treadmill is the best out there right now under $300.

To Sum Up

The HccSport Treadmill has a slightly higher price tag than most desk treadmills, but what you have is a powerful brushless motor, an incline feature, a detachable desktop, workout programs, and a sturdy build. Which, for me, makes this one of the best 3 in 1 treadmills out there. It’s worth paying that extra for the quality and the power.

Yes, it’s not designed for running or serious cardio, but it was never meant to be, it’s a compact treadmill, an under-desk treadmill is primarily designed for walking and working or light jogging. Great for burning calories and increasing your fitness level. If you’re tight on space or you love the idea of working while walking, the HccSport treadmill is an excellent choice.
