In the past couple of years, KSporst has released some of the most impressive compact treadmills on the market. These guys are delivering quality at an affordable price. Okay, the Ksports Treadmill isn’t a high-end machine, and you wouldn’t expect it to be in this price bracket, but for under $400, this thing packs a punch way above its price tag.

Includes Incline and Workout Programs

And it’s not just the build quality that impresses me about Ksports medium treadmill; it also boasts more features than most treadmills I’ve reviewed in this price range. You have a 3-way incline, a decent monitor that includes workout programs, pulse sensors, and it comes with dumbbells and an AB mat. If you’re a beginner just getting started with cardio at home? This treadmill has everyhting you need, and best of all, it’s compact, so a great choice for small spaces.

This is a treadmill I think is worth taking seriously. Yes, theres a few drawbacks, which ill cover later, but overall, Ksports has got most of the essentials right with their budget treadmill, and today I want to take a close look at everything this machine offers.

Why Do We Like The Ksports Treadmill?

What’s best about this treadmill is that it doesn’t feel cheap like most in this price range. Many users have praised how good it feels when exercising and that it feels solid, which is surprising for a low-cost treadmill. The quality is there with the Ksports treadmill, and it’s the quality for the price point that sells this machine.

However, what I like most is its size, its compact, lightweight, and its folds for storage, making it an excellent choice for small spaces and for people who live in apartments. Also, the Ksports treadmill uses an ultra-quiet 2HP motor, allowing you to watch TV and listen to music without being disturbed by the sound of the treadmill.

Build and Strengthen Your Butt and Calves

If there’s one feature, I always recommend people to look for when buying any treadmill is an incline. Walking or jogging on an incline burns twice as many calories as walking on a flat surface, and it helps build and strengthen those hard to train muscles such as your glutes, hamstrings, and calves. It’s an essential feature if you want to get the most out of your cardio sessions.

This is a low-cost treadmill, so we can’t expect an auto incline, but we do get a 3-way manual incline with a max incline of 5%. This is still impressive as most treadmills in this price range do not include an incline feature.

running belt size of ksports treadmill

Short Running Belt

One of the drawbacks of owning a compact treadmill is the size of the running belt. If you want a small treadmill, you have to live with a short running belt. And the size of the running belt is crucial as it determines who can use the machine and for what.

The Ksports medium treadmill boasts a 40″ running belt. 40″ belts have a max height for jogging of around 5’8″. Taller users will still be able to use the treadmill but only for slow-paced cardio sessions like walking.

Not only is this running belt short it’s also fairly narrow with a 16″ width. Belts this narrow are not recommended for intense cardio sessions. Running on a belt this narrow can be dangerous as stepping off the side of the belt can become a real issue. A 16″ width is okay for walking and light jogging but for anything more intense you’ll need a larger running belt.

Ksports Treadmill Bundle folding system

Impressive Hydraulic Folding System

You usually have to pay at least twice the price of the Ksports treadmill to benefit from a soft drop folding system, so it was a nice surprise to see one feature on this treadmill. Soft drop systems are great because they are easy to use and make folding the treadmill a breeze. You can literally fold this running deck with a single hand.

It folds to less than half its original footprints and once folded, you can tilt and roll on the built-in transport wheels to move the machine.

ksports treadmill bundle monitor

Decent Monitor With Workout Programs and Free App

I’ve been reviewing treadmills for years, and it’s rare to find a treadmill in this price range that comes with workout programs. And the Ksports monitor boasts 12, which is impressive. Having a few workout programs is always handy as they will challenge you and keep you coming back for more. Also, you have their free fitness app, which lets you download workout stats, etc.

The best feature of this monitor is the workout programs, but it also tracks all the essential workout data such as distance, time, speed, and grip pulse sensors for monitoring heart rate: perfect for those of you who love to train in your chosen heart rate zones.

Other features include Bluetooth MP3, cup holders, and one-touch buttons.

It’s an easy-to-use monitor. Everything can be selected with a touch of a button, there no annoying menus to scroll through, etc.

Who Is This Treadmill Designed For?

Even though the build quality is high for this budget treadmill, it remains a treadmill for beginners. It doesn’t have the power or the belt size to cope with intense cardio sessions. The 2HP motor is only powerful enough for walking and jogging.

We should also remember the max capacity of this machine is only 220lb, so it’s not designed for heavy users. It’s a lightweight, compact treadmill designed specifically for shorter users, 5’8″ and under.

Do I need a Treadmill Mat?

Light treadmills like the Ksport’s will move around a little on polished floors, so a treadmill mat will help with stability. They also help protect your floors from scratches. Most importantly, it’s probably best to buy a treadmill mat if you live in an apartment, as the mat will help absorb a lot of the vibrations from your workouts.

Sunny Health & Fitness makes the best cheap treadmill mats. You’ll only need a small mat for this treadmill.

Anything I Didn’t Like?

There isn’t much I can fault about this treadmill for the price. As I mentioned in the intro, these guys have got most things right. Still, the lack of an anti-shock system for the runng deck is disappointing.

I know we can’t expect too much in this price range, but most treadmills, even the cheap ones, have some sort of deck cushioning, and it’s important as it protects your joints from the impact of each foot strike. The lack of deck cushioning isn’t a deal killer, as deck cushioning isnt needed so much for light cardio. However, it’s still a feature I feel Ksports should have included, especially for seniors who might be thinking of purchasing this treadmill.

The Good

The Bad

Alternative

ksports large treadmill with power incline

Ksport Treadmill (large)

The ‘large’ is the most recently released treadmill from Ksports, and I wanted to show it to you because it offers a larger running belt. The belt of this treadmill measures 45″ x  17″. So its gives you some extra room and will allow users up to 6ft to jog on the machine.

This is Ksport’s top-of-the-line treadmill, but it is still relatively cheap compared to other treadmills with similar features. It’s priced at just under $700. What I love about Ksport’s large treadmill is the power-adjustable incline. It boasts a 15-level 15% power incline, excellent for a treadmill in this price range. I think it’s the most impressive incline I’ve come across for under $700.

What’s great about power inclines is that you don’t have to get off the machine to adjust the incline level. Also, another cool feature is that the built-in workout programs will self-adjust both the speed and level of incline according to the workout you selected.

Like its little brother, the large Ksports treadmill includes 12 workout programs, pulse sensors, and the free app.

You have a higher top speed and more powerful motor with the large version as you would expect at this price.

Overall it’s another winner from Ksports and a great alternative to their compact treadmills, but only if you need a better incline and larger running belt.

To Sum Up

The Ksports Medium Treadmill is a surprisingly good treadmill for under $400. It’s well made and includes some great features. Still, I feel what sells this treadmill is its size and the that it folds. And folds easily with its impressive soft drop system.

A compact treadmill for light cardio and the perfect choice for beginners who are  5’8″ or under, as you’ll be able to get the most from this treadmill—certainly one of the better ones I’ve reviewed in this price range.
