The Rhythm Fun Under desk treadmill is a lot smaller than it looks in the pictures. This treadmill is compact. It’s one of the smallest treadmills on the market. I’ve reviewed a ton of these walking pads over the years, and this is one of the most compact designs I’ve come across.

One drawback of being so compact is the 37 ” running belt. It’s basically the shortest belt you’ll find on any treadmill, which means this treadmill is not a good idea for taller users. I will discuss the belt more later.

The upside of choosing such a compact machine is, of course, storage.

It’s a treadmill that will fit almost any room, even small offices and bedrooms, and storage is a breeze. When the handrail is folded, the treadmill has a height of just 5″. You can store it under a couch, a bed, or up against a wall.

The compact size is what sells it, and makes the Rhythm Fun Treadmill a popular choice.

Two Versions – (Incline)

In the past couple of months, Rhythm Fun released the incline version of this treadmill. This is what I was hoping to see. And I was surprised that they kept the price below $250, which is surprisingly cheap for a 2-in-1 treadmill with an incline. The build quality hasn’t suffered either, and that’s what has always impressed me with Rhythm Fun. They’re one of the only companies that can deliver quality but keep the prices low,

So far, I’m impressed with this compact machine, it has its drawbacks as all the walking pads do. Still, I feel the pros outweigh the cons of this walking pad, and it certainly deserves a closer look.

Today, we’re taking a close look at everything the Rhythm Fun under-desk treadmill has to offer. I also want to compare it to the Sperax walking pad, one of the best sellers in this price bracket. It will be interesting to see how they match up.

First, before we get on with the review. Let’s check out the Rhythm Fun Treadmill product specs!

Why Do We Like The Rhythm Fun Under desk Treadmill?

The first thing most people are going to like about this treadmill is the price, under $250 for an incline 2 in 1 walking pad, is market-beating. Normally, if you want an incline, you’ll spend close to $300 for a decent one.

So yeah, the price is excellent. You get a lot of bang for your buck with the Rhythm Fun Treadmill, and this company has been around for years. I reviewed a lot of their gear and was impressed with the quality for the price point.

5 Minutes to Unbox and Set Up

Another thing you’ll love about this treadmill is how easy it is to set up and use. There’s no assembly involved, and it’s pretty light, which means most people shouldn’t have any trouble moving it from room to room.

Plus, it has built-in transport wheels. You can just tilt and roll it if you don’t want to pick it up to move it.

Folding Handrail

But I feel what really sells this treadmill is the folding handrail. Keep it folded when using it under a desk, and then if you want to do some faster-paced cardio, raise the handrail, and the top speed increases to 6.7mph, perfect for burning some extra calories.

It’s a walking pad that offers users who are tight on space and have a small budget an opportunity to exercise at home without the hassle of going to a gym.

So yes, if you are after a compact treadmill for an office or a bedroom for light cardio, it’s an excellent choice.

Short Running Belt Just 37″

Walking pads always suffer from a short running belt, it’s a compromise you must make if you want a compact machine.

The Rhythm Fun Treadmill hasn’t been designed for serious cardio. It’s a walking, light jogging treadmill. The running belt is short, one of the shortest I’ve reviewed in a long time, at just 37.”

What does a short running belt mean for you? It’s going to restrict who can use this treadmill and for what.

A belt this short will struggle to cope with a height above 5″8 for jogging. Taller users can use this treadmill for walking, but that’s all.

And its it a narrow running belt. Just 16″ in width, you need to be careful not to step off the side of the belt when exercising. It is not such an issue when walking, but if you’re going to jog on a belt this narrow, it will take some time to get used to it.

rhythm fun treadmill monitor

Monitor – Basic – Easy to Use, Includes Remote Contol

I like walking pad monitors. They’re all pretty much the same, and what makes them attractive to many is how easy they are to use. There’s nothing complicated to set up and no annoying menus to scroll through; you can jump on this treadmill and get exercising.

Still, the monitor does lack a few features, which is disappointing. There are no built-in workout programs, and there’s no way to measure heart rate.

The remote is a handy feature, especially if you’re going to use this treadmill as a walking pad with a handrail folded under a desk. The remote allows you to adjust speed and modes without ease, and what’s cool is that you can download their app and control the speed with your phone.

The running app (Ypoofit app) is a useful free app that you can link via BlueTooth. You can record all your exercise stats and link up with other runners. It’s fun, and I feel essential as there are no built-in workout programs.

When the handrail is raised, you can use the one-touch control buttons for speed and modes. The handrail also has a tablet/phone holder, so you can watch Netflix or YouTube while jogging (this is what I do) or use their app.

The monitor tracks time, distance, calories, and speed. It’s built-in LCD screen is a good size and easily viewed.

It’s a decent monitor for the price point. It includes everything you need for your cardio sessions, and you can link it to their running app for extra challenges.

3 level manual incline

8% – 3 Level Manual Incline

It’s great to find an incline feature on a sub $250 under-desk treadmill. So many walking pads lack an incline. And people who buy a treadmill without an incline are missing out on so much.

Walking or jogging on an incline doubles your calorie burn, and most importantly, it works and tones those hard-to-train muscles like your Glutes, Calves, and Hamstrings. It really is an essential feature, if you want to get the most out of your cardio sessions.

The Rhythm Fun treadmill boasts a 3-level manual incline with levels ranging from 2.5% up to 8%. In reality, this feels more like a 6% max incline; still, even a 6% incline is awesome to find in this price bracket.

There is another version of this treadmill, it is almost identical, apart from the incline feature and a slightly longer running belt. Priced just under $200. I’ll leave a link below.

Rhythm Fun Folding Treadmill without incline

2.5HP Motor, 300lb Weight Capacity

The weight capacity of budget treadmills is always overestimated, so you need to be careful not to cause an early motor burnout.

The Rhythm Fun treadmill boasts a 300lb capacity. There’s no way its 2.5HP motor would handle a 300lb user jogging on it every day. The motor wouldn’t last two months.

A more realistic weight capacity for a low-cost treadmill with a 2.5HP motor would be much less, more like 200lb, especially if you want to jog on the treadmill daily.

Walking on a treadmill doesn’t stress the motor so much, which means a slightly higher weight capacity for walking. Still, I wouldn’t risk going much above 220lb.

And remember, 2.5HP is a peak power rating. The CHP would be more like 1HP or even less. All low to medium-cost treadmills like to show peak performance rather than the actual CHP (CHP – Continuous Horse Power)

Do I need a Treadmill Mat?

Heavy-duty treadmills usually don’t need a treadmill mat to reduce movement because they have the extra weight that helps keep the treadmill planted to the floor. Lightweight treadmills like the Rhythm Fun treadmill tend to move a little when you’re exercising on them, and a treadmill mat will help with stability.

Another reason you might need a treadmill mat is that it will protect your polished floors from scratches.

Lastly, and most importantly, if you’re using a treadmill in an apartment, a treadmill mat will help absorb the vibrations from your workouts. It’s a good idea if you want to keep your neighbors happy.

I found the best cheap treadmill mats are made by Sunny Health & Fitness. Link below.

Is There an Anti-shock System to Protect Joints?

Not as such, and I didn’t expect there to be at this price point. However, you do have a multi-layer belt, which will provide some cushioning for the joints.

Still, since you’ll only use this treadmill for walking and light jogging, a high-end anti-shock system isn’t needed. The multi-layered belt should be enough to protect joints from the impact of each foot strike.

No Assembly – 2 Minute Set Up

You’ll be happy to hear this treadmill doesn’t require assembly. Everything comes pre-assembled, so you only have to unbox it. Still, it’s a pretty large box, and it can be awkward for one person to carry. If you’re planning to use the treadmill upstairs in an office or bedroom, you might need an extra pair of hands.

Other things to remember: center the treadmill belt before the first use. If it is loose, tighten it.

And remember to lubricate the running belt every 3 months for medium use.

Most treadmills are lubricated at the factory before they are shipped. But to be safe, I always lubricate a treadmill belt before its first use. You never know if they forgot or missed it.

Alternative

woman exercising on Sperax walking pad at home

Sperax 3 in 1 Walking Pad

The Sperax Walking Pad has been a best seller for a couple of years now; one reason it’s so popular is that you’re getting a walking pad with a folding handrail for under $200, and the other main reason for its popularity is the build quality.

People have owned the Sperax walking pad for over two years and are still praising how well works, which is what you want to hear.

It’s a walking pad similar to the Rhythm Fun pad. Both are well made, both include the folding handrail with remote, and both are compact, easy to store, and uncomplicated.

There is no incline feature with the Sperax walking pad, and you wouldn’t expect one for under $200. Hopefully, it will appear on the upgraded version of this treadmill later this year.

There are no built-in workout programs or BlueTooth. It’s just the basics with the Sperax walking pad. Still, the build quality is there, and the running belt measures 40″, slightly longer than the incline version of the Rhythm Fun treadmill.

If you don’t want to spend over $200 on a walking pad, the Sperax is one of the best choices out there. Yes, it’s basic, but it’s a durable well-made machine—the best in its price bracket.

To Sum Up

I was impressed with the Rhythm Fun Under Desk Treadmill. To have a 3-level incline in this price bracket is excellent. Also, it has BlueTooth to link with their running app, the build quality for the price is high, as many users have mentioned, and it’s made by Rhythm Fun, a company that’s been around for years.

Okay, the drawback is the short 37″ running belt, but it’s to be expected when buying a walking pad. They’re compact machines, and the belt length is always what suffers

. To get the most out of this treadmill, you need to be 5’7″ or under, so you can use it for jogging as well. However, even if you’re taller, it’s an excellent walking treadmill.

For the price, I think the Rhythm Fun Treadmill is unbeatable. A sturdy 2-in-1 treadmill, compact, easy to store, and boasts more features than other under-desk treadmills in its class.
