It’s about time these guys released a 2 in 1 walking pad, for a long time, all Sunny had on the market was their treadpad, which is a nice bit of kit, but you can only use it for walking as the motor topped out at 4mph.

Thankfully, the 2 in 1 version is here. This version of the Sunny Health Walking Pad includes a foldable handrail, which, when raised, increases the top speed to 6mph. So it can be used for both walking and jogging.

So you have all the good stuff from the original walking pad, but you now get a higher top speed, handrails for support, Bluetooth, and access to their fitness app, and the most impressive feature of this walking pad is a power-adjustable incline! Sunny has really delivered on this one.

SunnyFit App: 1000’s of workouts & Global Routes

The 2 in 1 Sunny Health Walking Pad is the smart version. It has BlueTooth, so not only do we get all those impressive features like the power incline and folding handrails, but we also get access to their new fitness app. Well, it’s not new. It’s been updated. They took everything people liked from their old app and then added thousands of global routes and workouts. And what’s best is that it’s still free, there’s no monthly subscription. Nice.

So far, Im really liking Sunny’s new slim 2 in 1 walking pad. The build quality is there, the features are more impressive than most of the walking pads I’ve reviewed, and I love the new app.

Yeah, there are a few drawbacks, which I’ll talk about later, but overall, the pros of this machine far outweigh its cons.

And today, I want to take a close look at everything this auto-incline walking pad has to offer. At the end of the review, I’ll also compare it with another top-selling walking pad and one of my favs, the HccSport 3 in 1 Walking Pad.

Why Do We Like The Sunny Health Walking Pad?

Sunny Health & Fitness has been around for decades. I’ve been reviewing their gear for many years, and what I have always liked about this company is that they deliver on quality and features, and they’re the best at keeping prices low.

And this is what I like most about this walking pad is that it’s not a cheaply made machine. It weighs 80lb, 30lb heavier than most walking pads or 2 in 1 pads.

That extra weight is a good thing, it’s what you want. It’s a telling sign that this walking pad is made from high-quality parts. Also, the extra weight helps keep this walking pad planted to the floor; it’s a sturdy, compact machine.

Work Those Calves, Glutes, and Hamstrings: 6-level Incline.

Another feature that really pushes this walking pad above others is its incline feature.

Usually, it’s great to find a 3-way manual incline on a walking pad, as most walking pads lack an incline. But with the Sunny 2 in 1 you have a 6 level auto adjust incline. No need to get off the machine and adjust the incline manually. You can simply adjust it via the remote or the handrail controls. It’s very impressive for a walking pad.

An incline future on any treadmill is important because it brings so much more to a treadmill workout. You’ll double calorie burn jogging or walking on an incline, and you’ll work and tone those hard to train muscles such as your calves, glutes, and hamstrings.

Easy To Use & Store

Something I know everyone is going to love about this walking pad is how easy it is to use and set up. It takes around 10 minutes to unbox and unfold the handrail. And you can just jump on it and workout. There is nothing complicated about this 2 in 1 treadmill. It’s designed to be hassle-free.

Even storage is easy. Once the handrail is folded, this pad measures only 6 ” in height. You can store it under a bed, couch, or against a wall.

Is The Belt Too Short For Running?

Every walking pad on the market is designed to be compact, which is one of the reasons they’re so popular. Still, there is a compromise you must make with these compact machines like the Sunny Health Walking Pad – a smaller running belt.

The size of the running belt determines who can use the treadmill and for what. The Sunny Health 2 in 1 walking pad boasts a 46″ running belt, which is pretty impressive for a walking pad. I’ve reviewed many with belts measuring just 37″ in length, so 46″ is awesome for a 2 in 1 compact machine.

However, a 46″ running belt still has its restrictions. The height limit for jogging will be around 5″9′,  and for walking or fast-paced walking, around 6’2″.

The Sunny Health 2 in 1 running belt is just 16″ wide, so if you’re used to running on gym machines, a belt this narrow will take some getting used to. Just be careful not to step off the side of the belt when jogging; it’s not so much of an issue when walking.

Large 6″ LCD, Remote and Handrail Controls + App

Most walking pads/2 in 1 treadmills have easy to use simple control consoles, and the Sunny Health 2 1 treadmill is no different. Everything is very easy to use. No one should have any issues with the remote, the handrail controls, or the app.

As I mentioned earlier, when the handrails of the walking pad are unfolded, the top speed increases to 6mph, which means you can use the treadmill for faster-paced cardio.

When the handrails are raised, you can control the treadmill using the one-touch handrail control buttons or keep using the remote, it’s up to you, but it’s always nice to have a choice.

The 6″ LCD is built into the front of the running deck, making it easy to view while working out. It tracks all your essential workout stats, such as time, distance, speed, calories, and steps. Unfortunately, this monitor does not measure heart rate.

Another cool feature is the SunnyFit app, which has been updated in the past 12 months and is a huge improvement over the old app. It gives you a choice of over 10,000 scenic global routes, 1000+ workouts, and much more, and it’s all free.

Multi-Layered Belt – No Shock Absorbers

Most good treadmills come with some sort of anti-shock system to protect your joints from the impact of each foot strike. With the Sunny Health Walking pad, there isn’t really an anti-shock system. There are no rubber shock absorbers between the belt and the running deck.

At this price point, I would expect to see at least dual rubber shock absorbers, but all Sunny has provided with this treadmill is a multi-layered running belt with an anti-shock layer in between. This is the bare minimum a treadmill company could call an anti-shock system.

The multi-layered will provide some cushioning for your joints. You do feel it, and yeah, it’s much better than running on hard-impact surfaces like roads, but I expected more.

Motor Power and Weightt Capacity (2HP -265lb)

Walking pads and 2-in-1 compact treadmills aren’t designed for people training for marathons, etc. A 2 in 1 treadmill like the Sunny Health walking pad is designed for people who want to lose weight and increase their fitness levels. It’s not a serious machine.

So, it’s rare to find a motor with any real power on one of these walking pads. The Sunny Pacer 2 in 1 walking pad can only boast a 2HP motor.

2HP is fine for walking and jogging, and you shouldn’t have any trouble with the power of this treadmill. Still, what you need to remember is that the 2HP stated is the motor’s peak performance. It is not its CHP (continuous horse power)

Low cost, even mid level treadmills always show their peak performance HP rather than the actual CHP because it sounds more impressive. Heavy-duty duty, more expensive treadmills with heavy-duty motors are rated by their CHP.

So what does this all mean? Well, a walking pad with a 2HP peak performance motor will only have a CHP of about 1HP, so the actual continuous power of the motor is much less than its peak performance.

When you buy a low-cost treadmill, you really must keep well under the maximum weight capacity of the treadmill to avoid early motor burnout.

Although Sunny Health and Fitness states a 265lb weight capacity for this 2 in 1 treadmill, a more realistic weight capacity for the 2HP motor would be 220lb for jogging and slightly more for jogging.

floor mat for treadmill

Will I Need a Treadmill Mat?

One reason many people buy a treadmill mat is to prevent unwanted movement on polished floors. Heavy-duty treadmills don’t have this problem, as they have the extra weight to keep them sturdy and planted to the floor. Unwanted movement is mostly an issue with lightweight low-coast treadmills and compact machines.

Another reason you might need a treadmill mat is it helps to protect your polished floors from scratches.

And lastly, a treadmill mat is always a good idea if you live in an apartment and want to keep the neighbors happy, as a mat will soak up most of the vibrations from your workouts.

Quick Assembly – Under 10 Minutes

You’ll be happy to hear there’s no assembly with the Sunny Health Walking Pad. All you’ll need to do is unbox it and unfold the handrail. This will take you less than 10 minutes.

The box is large and quite heavy, so it might be a good idea to have someone help you unbox the treadmill and get everything in place.

Things to remember: While most treadmill belts are lubricated at the factory before they’re shipped, I always like to lubricate the belt before first use. You never know if they forgot or missed it.

If the treadmill belt hasn’t been centered before the first use, you’ll need to center it and ensure it isn’t loose. If it is loose, tighten it with an Allen key.

3 modes of 3 in 1 hccsport walking pad

HccSport 3 in 1 Treadmill

The HccSport walking pad has been a fav of mine for the past couple of years. It’s a walking pad that offers a lot of bang for your buck. Just like the Sunny Health Walking Pad, the HccSport 3 in 1 is well made. The first thing you’ll notice about it is how sturdy it is for its size. It weighs over 80lb, again, a sign that high quality parts have been used in the build.

Something else I loved about this walking pad was its power; it boasts a 3.5HP motor, which is powerful for such a small machine and excellent to see on a walking pad. It can easily cope with faster paced cardio and heavier weights than most walking pads.

Also, this walking pad comes with 12 built-in workout programs, but there’s no BlueTooth option, which is a shame, so no running apps with this one.

However, where this treadmill does outshine most is with the anti-shock system. It’s an impressive one for a compact walking pad with 6 rubber shock absorbers and a multi-layer belt—providing more than enough protection for your joints.

There is no auto incline feature with the HccSport treadmill, but you do have a 3-level manual incline with a max of 6%, which is still great to find on a walking pad. And you need to remember that this walking pad costs under $400, so you can’t expect a power incline.

Overall, it’s a walking pad that really impresses for the price point, certainly the best I’ve reviewed under $400.

To Sum Up

There wasn’t much I didn’t like about the Sunny Health Pacer 2 in 1 Walking pad. It’s a walking pad that boasts as many features as most medium sized treadmills. The auto incline is its most impressive feature. Great to find an auto incline on a walking pad. It’s an excellent feature and a feature I’m sure you’ll make the most of.

The build quality surpasses most walking pads, which is what you’d expect from Sunny Health & Fitness. The sturdy 80lb build pushes this treadmill to another level compared to most of the walking pads out there.

And, of course, the updated free SunnyFit app, which you can access with this walking pad,. Yes, overall, it is another impressive machine from Sunny Health & Fitness. It is one of the best walking pads out there right now, and it should be, considering its price tag.

Sunny Health Pacer 2 in 1 Walking Pad FAQs

Can You Adjust The Incline on The Sunny Health Pacer 2 in 1 Treadmill?

Yes! The Sunny Health Pacer 2 in 1 Treadmill includes an auto adjustable incline feature. It can be adjusted to a maximum of 6%. You can adjust it via the remote control buttons or handrail buttons.

Can I Fold The Sunny Health Pacer Treadmill For Storage?

Yes, you can easily fold the handrail down after use. This allows the treadmill to be used as an under-desk walking pad or for storage. At a folded height of just 6″, it will fit under beds or couches easily.

Can I Run On The Sunny Health 2 in 1 Walking Pad?

It depends on your height and stride length. While most people will be able to walk and jog comfortably on the pacer walking pad, they have trouble using it for running as the belt is quite short, and the motor isn’t really powerful enough with just 2HP.
