Trying to find the Best Budget Weight Bench is tough, there are a ton of them out there, but finding a decent, well-made, sturdy one out of the 50 or so on the market right now is difficult.
The quality of the bench can vary so much from one brand to another in this price bracket, you really do need to do your research before choosing one. Otherwise, you’ll be sending it back after a day.

Over a Decade of Experience
I’ve been reviewing weight benches for this website for over a decade, all kinds of benches, including the low-cost benches, and out of the 70 or so budget benches I’ve reviewed in the last 10 years, I’ve found only a handful I’d be happy to reccomend.
It really is tough in this price bracket to find a decent, well-made, sturdy bench that offers all the features of a higher-end bench and gets it right, while still having a budget-friendly price tag. They’re not impossible to find, but they’re rare.
5 Impressive Ones
A few really impressive ones do exist, 5 or so budget benches I’ve found that stand out from all the others on the market.
5 Budget Weight Benches that get all the essentials right. My top 5 budget benches include adjustable seats, large weight capacities, stable builds, and enough backpad positions to meet all your incline workout needs.
Built by companies I know and trust. And a couple of newcomers like Yoleo, who are very impressive in the budget ranges, and deserve to be on this list.
Also, I regularly update this top 5 Budget Weight Bench Guide. If anything new and impressive comes onto the market and I feel it deserves to be in the top 5, the guide is updated.
Look For:
If this is your first weight bench, it’s always good to have a rough idea of what to look for. First and most importantly, you need to make sure you choose a sturdy weight bench. Look for wide stabilizing feet with adjustable levellers built into them.
- Wide Stabilizing Feet: really help keep a weight bench stable. Budget weight benches don’t have much weight to aid stability, so we rely on features like wide feet and low-profile designs. Also, adjustable levellers can be a huge help, especially for uneven floors, as you can adjust them to keep the bench stable.
- Also, look for Ladder-Adjustment Systems for the bench’s backpad. Ladder adjustment systems are quick to adjust, sturdy, and can handle more weight than pull-pin systems.
- High-Density Foam For The Padding: High-density foam is the gold standard for weight benches; it’s not too soft to cause stability issues or too hard to be uncomfortable and off-putting, it’s just right and can be found on some budget benches.
- An Adjustable Seat: an essential feature for a weight bench, as it prevents your butt from slipping down the seat during incline pressing, especially important for anyone who’s serious about developing their upper pectoral muscles.
Ok ,they’re the most important things to look for, but it’s just a quick 2-minute guide. I’ve put together a more detailed guide on what to look, which you find at the end of this article.
Ok, without further ado, let’s get on with the reviews.
After 100’s of hours of reviewing budget benches over the years, these are the 5 low-cost benches I’m happy to reccomend.

Wide stabilizing feet, front and rear, and adjustable levellers keep this bench stable

The Bad

The backpad is quite short because of the compact design of this bench, which means taller users over 6’1″ might have issues
Why We Like It
The first thing you’ll notice about this bench once it’s unboxed is just how sturdy it is. It’s surprisingly sturdy for a lightweight budget bench. And that’s thanks to the wide front and rear stabilizing feet, which really help keep this bench stable. Nobody wants a wobbly weight bench.
But it’s not just the sturdy build that appeals to me about the Yoleo bench. I love that Yoleo has really thought about the design of their bench. They’ve even used a ladder-adjustment system for the backpad.

Ladder adjustment systems are much faster to adjust than the pull-in type systems, and can handle more weight, so a big thumbs up to Yoleo for using this feature on their budget bench.
And with 7 adjustable backpad positions, you have more than enough angles for all your incline-pressing needs.
Also, there’s a 4-way adjustable seat, essential for support when incline pressing, and excellent to see on a low-cost weight bench.
Something else I liked about the Yoleo Weight Bench is the bench’s height in flat. It’s not too high, unlike so many low-cost benches.
The floor to the top of the pad measures 18″, which is what you want. It’s about the same height as the commercial flat benches, which means the Yoleo Weight Bench is just as impressive in flat as in incline, surprising for a budget weight bench.
And the bench’s padding is impressive too. Yoleo has used high-density foam for the padding, which is the gold standard for weight benches and is rarely found on a weight bench under $100. The reason this stuff is so good is that it’s not too soft to cause stability issues or too hard to be off-putting and uncomfortable. It’s just right.
The Yoleo Bench is delivered to your door 95% assmebeld, it’s all done for you, just 5 minutes to attach the foot rests, and that’s it.
Lastly, the bench’s folding system is easy to use, takes a few seconds, and, once folded, the bench can be stored against a wall or under a bed. It’s really easy to move and store this weight bench.
Overall, the Yoleo Adjustable Weight Bench stands out more this year than any other budget bench. It’s sturdy, it’s well-made, and all the essentials are there.
The padding is great, I love the ladder adjustment system for the backpad, and you also have an adjustable seat, all for under $100. The Yoleo Weight Bench is unbeatable at this price.

Why We Like It
I’ve always liked Flybird Weight Benches. These guys really know what they’re doing. They’ve been around for over 20 years and are the go-to company for budget adjustable weight benches.
Their workout bench is my favourite of all their benches. You get a lot of bench for the money. And just like the Yoleo Weight Bench, it is sturdy. Again, we have those wide stabilizing feet front and rear, which give the bench its stability, and the built-in adjustable levellers that keep it stable on uneven floors.
And Flybird always uses the high-density foam on all their benches for the seat and backpad padding, which is exactly what you want.
The Flybird Bench boasts 8 adjustable backpad positions, which include decline. Which means it’s a full FID weight bench (flat, incline, and decline).
To find a full FID bench at this price is excellent. It means you can work all areas of your pectorals, upper, middle, and lower.
There’s also a 4-way adjustable seat, which is vital for support when incline pressing, and let’s not forget the folding system, one of the easiest to use and fastest to adjust I’ve come across, taking just 2 seconds to fold.
Assembly is a breeze too, as most of the bench comes pre-assembled. Again, like the Yoleo Weight Bench, the Flybird Weight Bench takes just 5 minutes to assemble.
The Flybird Workout Bench uses a ladder adjustment system for the backpad, but with a recent update, they’ve added a double-lock system, which means there is also a pin to lock the backpad in position.
The downside to the double lock system is that it slows adjustment times and is really not needed. It’s not a deal breaker, just a shame they tried to fix something that didn’t need fixing.
Overall, the Flybird Weight Bench is one of the best in this price range. It’s well-made, sturdy, highly versatile, includes all the essentials, and boasts that excellent folding system. A great choice for anyone who wants to take their dumbbell workouts to the next level.
Best Compact Budget Weight Bench

- Product weight: 17.2lb
- Adjustable backpad positions: 9

Well made bench for the price point, and sturdy thanks to the wide stabilizing feet
Ladder adjustment system, much faster to adjust than the pull pin type, and feels more sturdy when lifting
Adjustable seat, 3 positions
9 adjustable back pad positions including decline, more than enough for all your pressing needs
2″ thick padding, which is just right for a weight bench
Great price for a sturdy, versatile folding dumbbell bench
The Bad
Not suitable for heavy lifting or rack work, it’s a lightweight bench designed for beginners and intermediates
Gap between the seat and the backrest is quite large, might be off-putting for some people
Why We Like It
When I first reviewed this bench, a few years back, I was shocked at just how good it was for the price. Not only was it sturdy and well-made, but it was also one of the most versatile budget benches I’d come across, with 9 adjustable backpad positions, which include a decline angle, and 3 adjustable seat positions.
And what was most impressive was that both the seat and the backpad use a ladder adjustment system, so no messing around with pins, which is what I like to see.
Also, padding is great. It’s 2″ thick, which is really impressive for a bench under $100, and it’s made of high-density foam, a shock to find on such a low-cost dumbbell bench.
And the PU leather covering for the bench padding isn’t too bad; it’s hard-wearing, so it won’t tear in the first few months, unlike some budget benches’ coverings.
The folding system is fast for this bench. Just remove a single pin, and that’s it. It literally takes a couple of seconds.
Plus, you’ll be happy to hear there’s no assembly with the Fitgoods Bench. It’s delivered fully assembled to your doorstep.
So yes, you get a lot for your money with the Fitgoods Weight Bench, and they got everything right.
Still, you need to remember this is a compact weight bench, designed for small spaces, and because of its compact design, the backpad is slightly shorter. I’d give the Fitgoods Dumbbell Bench a max height limit of 6’1″.

- Product weight: 29lb

- Folds for storage – Yes
- Weight Limit: 1000lb
The Good
Sturdy, well made dumbbell bench
Ladder adjustment system for the back pad, fast to adjust
4 way adjustable seat – prevents butt slipping down seat when incline pressing
High density foam padding – not to soft or too hard
Adjustable feet levelers, keep the bench stable on uneven floors
Easy to fold, great for people tight on space
The Bad
Only has the full 90 degress for seated shoulder presses
Large gap between seat and back pad, might be uncomfortable for some people
Why We Like It
You’re not going to find a true heavy-duty weight bench in this price range, it’s impossible. 99% of budget weight benches are designed for dumbbell workouts, mostly for beginners and intermediate lifters.
Budget weight benches are lightweight; they’re a long way from being heavy-duty. They’re not designed for heavy barbell lifting inside a rack or cage.
There are some great budget benches out there, like the ones in this review, but they’re still quite far off from being heavy-duty, commercial-grade benches.
However, there are one or two weight benches around the $100 mark that I could almost call heavy duty, and one of those is the NextRep Adjustable Bench.
The NextRep Bench weighs 30lb, which is much heavier than most budget benches, and that extra weight really adds to the solid feel of this bench. It doesn’t have the same feel as a lightweight dumbbell bench, it’s more substantial, and it’s designed for heavier lifting.
It’s a great bench for the price point and is designed not just for beginners. You can lift heavy on the NextRep Weight Bench. It’s that good, and surprisingly cheap for what you’re getting.
But it’s not just the solid build of the NextRep Bench that impresses; you have 9 positions for the backpad, which is more than enough even for serious lifters, and 4 positions for the seat, vital for your incline workouts.
I love the padding, it’s 2″ thick high-density foam, just what you should be looking for, and the backpad is longer on this bench, also with an adjustable headrest, so it will suit taller users as well.
Plus, it’s a nice looking bench. I love the contrast of the black and yellow; it really stands out, and I think it will look great in most home gyms.
So yes, overall an impressive bench for the money, still not quite heavy duty, but it’s about as close as you’ll get in this price range. This is not a bench that disappoints. I’d happily reccomend it.
Best Budget Flat Weight Bench
Specs
- Price: $68.99
- Product dimensions: 42″D x 11″W x 18″H
- Product weight: 18.7l
- Folds for storage – Yes
- Weight Limit: 600lb
The Good
Rock solid design no movement, even when pressing heavy
Most importantly, Flybird got the height right, its the same height as commercial and competition flat benches
2.5″ thick foam padding covered in tear resiststant PU leather
Folds for storage – easily fits under a bed or can be stored against a wall
Fast assmebly takes a couple of minutes to attach the feet
The Bad
I would have liked the backpad to have been an inch wider, it’s slightly narrow
The folding system could have been simpler – can take a minute or two to fold
Why We Like It
This is the second time Flytbird have appeared in the Top 5 budget Bench guide, but that’s because these guys are just so good at what they do.
There’s no other company that does quality and low prices better than Flybird when it comes to weight benches, and their flat benches are just as impressive as their adjustables.
The reason I like this flat bench so much is that the price is great for what you get, and it’s had a recent update, making it just as impressive as their more expensive flat bench, which costs a substantial amount more. This cheap flat weight bench is a winner. (600lb max capacity version)
The Flybird flat weight bench is much more sturdy than the earlier version. They’ve increased the width of the stabilizing feet and improved the padding.
Users are loving the rock-solid design. There are no wobbles! Also, the height from floor to the top of the pad I’m happy to tell is 17.8″, which is just about perfect, it’s the same height as most commercial and competition flat benches, and should allow most people to place their feet flat on the floor when pressing.
So the design is solid, the padding is great, the covering is hard-wearing, and, most importantly, Flybird got the bench height right.
There isn’t really anything I can fault about Flybird’s flat bench. It’s the best on the market right now at this price point.
The only drawback is that it takes a little while to fold, they could have made the system simplier, but its not a deal killer, overall an excelent flat bench, and well worth its price tag.
Buying Tips
Size – Stability – Capacity
In this price range, we should be able to find a bench that is sturdy, solid, and heavy-duty, not a commercial-grade but heavy-duty frames
Ideally, we are looking for a minimum of 450lbs weight plus user load, 1000lb would be the absolute ideal.
Remember, as you train, you will be growing, so you need to take that into account. You will be adding body mass and starting to lift heavier weights, so the higher the user and weight load, the better.
Stability
I cannot stress enough how important it is for your bench not to have a wobble. Each of the benches we have reviewed is the sturdiest in its price range. Wobbles can cause injury! A solid, sturdy weight bench is a must.
Another important thing to look out for when choosing your bench is how wide it is.
If it’s too wide, it can interfere with bench pressing and flys. A tapering back support helps, but try to avoid any bench that widens at the top of the back support rather than tapers.
12″ width is ideal, although 10″ is also a great width, especially for smaller users; it all depends on body size.
Length/Height
Length – If you’re a tall guy, the back supports on some cheaper budget benches are too short. Some people even struggle to fit at 5’10, so don’t be caught out.
Height – A comfortable height for a bench in a flat would be anywhere between 17-21, any higher than this, the average-sized man will struggle to keep his feet flat on the floor.
Back Pad Positions
Most bodybuilders will look for a weight bench similar to the one they use at their local gym.
A commercial weight bench will more than likely include up to 7 adjustment angles for the back support. The more adjustment angles a home bought bench has, the better, especially if you wish to have options for incline and decline workouts that a flat bench cannot offer.

One of the main features to look out for, and yes, it’s available in this price bracket, is a bench that will go from flat to vertical. You don’t want to have to buy another bench just for the vertical or near-vertical.
If the bench lacks a decline option, it’s not a deal-breaker; decline pressing is overrated, and nothing you can’t achieve by doing some weighted dips.
Lastly, an adjustable seat, a feature well worth considering when choosing your bench.
You might find it without an adjustable seat. Your butt starts to slip down when in low incline positions, important because this will affect pressing power and add additional stress to your lower back.
Seat
I bought a bench many years ago, and like many of them, the seat was much wider where you place your knees. This can be off-putting and uncomfortable and can affect your workout.
The bench seat should be slightly narrower at the back and only slightly wider where it meets your knees. Avoid benches that go from very narrow to wide.
The cushion of the seat should not be so soft that it causes stability issues, nor so hard that it makes you uncomfortable. A tip is to look out for high-density foam for the upholstery.
Attachments
You will find that most of the weight benches come with rollers (wheels) integrated into the rear stabilizers.
This feature can prove to be a big help, as adjustable benches tend to weigh 50-90lbs, and if you’re using the bench for rack work and dumbbell workouts, you will be moving it around a lot.
Rollers make it so much easier to move the bench to different workout areas of your home gym and for ease of storage.
To Sum Up
It goes to show you don’t have to spend big bucks to buy a quality adjustable weight bench. I was impressed by a few benches in this price bracket, and the Yoleo Adjustable Weight Bench stood out the most from its competitors.
The Yoleo Adjustable Weight Bench shines in both build quality and versatility. It’s also great for people who don’t have the space to house a weight bench permanently, as it comes equipped with an excellent fold for storage feature, folding to less than half its original footprint. And with a decent weight capacity of 660lb, the Flybird bench is going to have a wide appeal. It is, overall, the best low priced weight bench.
Coming in a close second are both the NextRep Weight Bench and the Flybird Workout Bench
The NextRep Weight Bench is a great choice for those of you who are on a budget but are looking for a bench that can take some serious poundage, yeah, the angles for the adjustable seat are on the low side, but for the price, we can live with the seat, as there’s a lot of bench on offer with the NextRep.
The Flybird Bench is another excellent all-rounder boasting a solid build and high-density foam padding. Again, the Flybird Bench shines with versatility thanks to its eight adjustable back pad positions and 4 seat positions. You can’t go wrong with this Flybird Weight Bench. Users love this bench even after years of use.
The Flybird Workout Bench has been around for a long time, and it still receives high ratings wherever it’s sold. It’s a great bench from a respected company.
The Best Budget Weight Bench FAQs
1. What should I look for in a budget weight bench under $100? Key features include:
- Weight capacity — Aim for at least 500–600 lbs (user + weights) for safety.
- Adjustability — Look for 6–8 backrest positions plus decline for versatility.
- Foldability — Essential for small spaces; most under-$100 benches fold easily.
- Stability — Check for sturdy steel frames and non-slip feet.
- Padding and comfort — Thick, tear-resistant foam prevents discomfort during presses. Prioritize brands with strong recent ratings (4+ stars from thousands of reviews) and avoid ultra-cheap no-name options.
2. Are weight benches under $100 worth buying?
Yes, especially for beginners, light-to-moderate home workouts, or limited budgets. Many deliver 500–800 lb capacities, fold for storage, and support dumbbell presses, incline workouts, and bodyweight exercises. They’re great for beginners, but if you plan heavy lifting (300+ lbs regularly), consider stepping up to $150–$300 models for better stability and longevity. Read recent reviews to avoid wobbly or low-quality weight benches.
3. What is the best weight bench under $100 in 2026?
The best options under $100 are typically foldable adjustable models like the Flybird, Yoleo, or Pasyou adjustable benches (often $70–$100 on Amazon). They offer multiple incline/decline positions, 500–800 lb weight capacities, and compact folding for home use.
4. Can an adjustable weight bench under $100 handle heavy lifting?
Most handle 500–800 lbs total (including your body weight), which suits beginners to intermediate lifters doing dumbbell work or lighter barbell presses. For serious powerlifting or 400+ lb bench presses, opt for higher-end benches with thicker steel and better welds.

Hi to all, it’s genuinely a good for me to pay a visit this website, it
contains useful Information.
Great post! Although I do currently have a gym membership, I would prefer to get back to working out at home. In looking through the reviews in your article, I would probably be best served by looking into the Marcy bench that holds 600 lbs. I’m already 230 myself, so that should be sufficient to hold both the weights and my fat butt. Ha! Thanks for all the great info!
lol, I agree Mark your nearly always better going for a bench with the highest weight capacity in your budget range, strength can develop quite quickly and you’d be surprised how many people outgrow their benches. The Marcy SB670 is a great looking, versatile bench and I’m sure you will be pleased with it. It’s also a bargain at that price! Thanks for dropping by.
Bowflex Adjustable Weight Bench looks really nice and I wonder how does it perform with attachments because I want to do a lot of different exercises and it is really important for me. If it is not good about it can you recommend another one which will do the job?
