LeikeFitnes has been around for a couple of years. These guys are just starting to make their mark. Their gym gear is decent, it’s not high-end, they mostly specialize in budget equipment, but so far, they seem pretty good at it.

The LeikeFitness Adjustable Weight Bench is a dumbbell bench. It’s not designed for heavy barbell lifting inside a cage/rack.

It’s a well-made weight bench best suited to beginners and intermediates who want to take their dumbbell workouts to the next level with an adjustable bench.

I’ve been reviewing low-cost weight benches for many years, and it’s always tough to find a decent one, as so many are plagued by stability and build-quality issues.

Still, there are a few good ones out there, and the LeikeFitness Bench is one of them. It’s not perfect; it has a few drawbacks that I’ll talk about later, but the pros do outweigh the cons with this one.

Weighs Over 30lb

Surprisingly, the LeikeFitness Bench weighs over 30lb, and that’s a good thing.

The heavier the better when it comes to weight benches; that extra weight gives this compact bench a more sturdy feel, and it’s a reassuring sign that it’s made from high-quality materials.

Most budget benches in this price range weigh around 20lb or less, so it’s surprising to find one with a little more weight.

Okay, it’s still a long way from being a heavy-duty bench, but it’s more substantial than most of the low-cost adjustable benches out there. This makes it stand out from its competitors

So far, I’m impressed with the LeikeFitness Adjustable Weight Bench. It’s certainly a weight bench I’d like to take a closer look at, and today we’re going to look at everything it has to offer, including its drawbacks.

Also, at the end of the review, I’m going to compare the LeikeFitness Bench to another favorite of mine in this price bracket, the Linodi Weight Bench, as it will be interesting to see how these two match up.

Why Do We Like The LeikeFitness Adjustable Weight Bench?

As I already mentioned, the LeikeFitness Bench is a little heavier than most of the budget benches, which is always a good thing. The extra weight aids stability, and it’s a telling sign that higher-quality materials were used in the build.

Many users have mentioned how well-made and sturdy the LeikeFitness Bench feels. I also like the wide stabilizing rear bar. It really helps keep this bench stable.

Also, LeikeFitness has fitted adjustable levellers, which are a very handy feature as you can adjust them to keep the bench stable on uneven floors.

Compact, Low Profile Weight Bench

One of the things you’ll notice about this bench once you’ve got it assembled is that it’s compact, it’s a fairly small dumbbell bench, it’s smaller than something you might use in your local gym.

If you’re tight on space or you live in an apartment, a compact bench is a good thing, as it will easily fit in most rooms, even a small office.

Still, the downside of a compact design is that the backpad’s length suffers.

You only have a 30″ back pad with the LeikeFitness Weight Bench, which means taller users may have issues using the bench. The max height for this compact dumbbell bench is around 6’1″.

6 Backpad Positions

The LeikeFitness Bench boasts 6 backpad positions, which is usually enough for most lifters’ pressing needs.

There’s a near-90-degree angle for seated shoulder press and a 75-degree angle, which is good, as I prefer a 75-degree angle because it allows you to arch your back slightly, giving you a more stable base to press from.

With 90 degrees, I feel like I’m almost falling forward. Still, whichever angle you prefer, it’s great that Leike has given you the choice.

There are 4 other backpad positions: 2 for incline bench pressing, plus flat, and decline, which is great to see on a budget bench.

Pull-Pin System for the Backpad

Ideally, I would have liked to have seen a ladder adjustment system for the backpad. They’re faster to adjust and sturdier than the pull-pin systems.

Many budget benches use the pull-pin system. It’s not a bad system, just that it takes time, and there’s always that risk in your mind that the pin might snap under heavy-weight loads.

Still, it’s rare for a pin to snap, and the Leike Bench is well-made, so there shouldn’t be any worries there. The main drawback is just that this system is slower to adjust than the ladder adjustment systems.

3 Position Adjustable Seat

Excellent that LeikeFitness included an adjustable seat with their bench, so many low-cost benches don’t have this essential feature.

An adjustable seat is so important because it provides support when incline pressing. Without an adjustable seat, your butt will start to slip down the seat, and your form and power will be affected negatively.

If developing your upper pectoral muscles is important to you, then an adjustable seat should be a must with any weight bench you choose.

The LeikeFitness Adjustable Weight Bench boasts a 3-position adjustable seat.

Can the LeikeFitness Weight Bench Handle Its 660lb Max Capacity?

As I’ve already mentioned, this is a dumbbell bench designed for beginners and intermediates. It’s a long way off from something you might use in a local gym. It’s not a heavy-duty bench, and you wouldn’t expect it to be at this price point.

Dumbbell benches are lightweight, they don’t have the heavy-gauge steel frames or welds of the more expensive commercial benches, and they can’t handle heavy loads well. They’re just not designed for it.

So is 660lb an unrealistic max weight capacity for a $100 dumbbell bench like the LeikeFitness Weight Bench? Yes, it is, but only slightly.

LeikeFitness didn’t go too crazy with their weight capacity, unlike so many of the companies that make these budget dumbbell benches, and at least the LeikeFitness bench is well-made, so it should be able to handle a fair amount of weight daily.

Maybe the Leike Bench could handle its 660lb max capacity, but on a regular basis? No, it’s well-made, but it’s not that good.

A more realistic weight capacity for a well-made $100 dumbbell bench like this would be around 500lb. I wouldn’t risk going any higher than that.

LeikeFitness Weight Bench in flat position

Low Profile Design, but Is It Too Low?

One of the most common problems I come across when reviewing low cost weight benches is that they’re too high when the backpad is in the flat position, some as high as 22″ from the floor to the top of the pad, which can be an issue for shorter users.

You need to be able to place your feet flat on the floor when bench pressing. If you can’t, it will affect your power and form.

Ideally, look for a height of 18″ for an adjustable bench when it’s in flat, this height works well for most people, allowing for proper foot placement when pressing in flat.

Commercial and competition flat benches have a height of around 17’6″, so if we can find anywhere near that with our adjustable bench in flat, then we’re doing well, because you want your adjustable bench to be just as good in flat as it is in incline.

You don’t want to have to buy a separate flat bench just because your adjustable bench is too high.

The LeikeFitness Adjustable Weight Bench has a height of just 16″ in flat, which is rare, as I mentioned, the cheaper benches are normally too high. It’s been years since I’ve reviewed one that might actually be too low.

Still, lower is better than too high, and the low-profile design does add to the bench’s stability, but I feel taller users will feel somewhat limited on this bench.

If you’re over 6ft, this bench just isn’t a good choice, the backpad is short, and the bench is too low. It’s certainly a bench better suited for shorter users.

man folding the leikefitness weight bench

Easy To Move and Store

Something I know users love about this weight bench is just how easy it is to move and store.

It’s a compact bench, so it doesn’t take up much room even when unfolded, but once folded, its overall footprint is more than halved. You can store it against a wall or even under a bed. So a great choice for people who are tight on space.

But what I like most is the actual folding system, it’s so simple to use, just remove a single pin and fold the bench, it’s that easy and takes just a couple of seconds.

Assembley – 20 Minutes

A lot of the budget benches come fully assembled, which is great, but with this one, you’ll need to do a little assembly, like attaching the footrests. It’s pretty easy, but the instructions aren’t great, so take your time. Tools are provided for the job.

The Good

Well-made bench, and sturdy

Users like its compact design

6 backpad positions that include decline, making it a full FID bench (flat, incline, decline)

Great to see an adjustable seat, essential for support when incline pressing

Padding is a good thickness and not too soft or too hard

Easy to fold, takes just a few seconds

Adjustable levellers adjust to keep the bench stable on uneven floors

The Bad

Some users have mentioned the seat and backpad covering is a little loose

Pull pin system for backpad – slower to adjust than the ladder systems

Not suitable for taller users, short backpad, and low flat position height, anyone over 6ft might have issues fitting this bench

Linodi Adjustable Weight Bench

The Linodi Adjustable Weight bench has been one of my favourites in this price range for a while because it offers so much for the money.

It was recently upgraded and is now even more sturdy, includes more backpad angles, and, best of all, they didn’t hike the price with the upgrade.

Similar to the LeikeFitness Weight Bench, the Linodi Weight Bench is a foldable dumbbell bench, designed for beginners and intermediates.

It weighs just 17 lbs and is a lightweight budget bench, but the reason I like the Linodi Bench so much is that these guys got all the essentials right. They’ve used a ladder adjustment system for the backpad, which is great to see, fast to adjust, and no messing around with annoying pins.

There are 7 positions in total for the backpad, including decline, so there’s more than enough for all your pressing needs.

The seat is adjustable, again, great to see at this price point, and an essential feature if you’re serious about developing those upper pecs.

And the padding on this bench is impressive. Linodi has used high-density foam for both the seat and backpad. This stuff is the gold standard for weight benches. It’s not too hard to be off-putting nor too soft to cause stability issues. It’s just right, and excellent to find on a low-cost bench.

The folding system is impressive too, just like the Leike Weight bench, the Linodi bench takes just a few seconds to fold, remove a single pin, and fold. It’s that easy.

Overall, an excellent low-cost dumbbell bench, that’s got everything right, even the height in flat is 18″, just what we want.

Linodi really thought about the design of this bench, and it shows. It’s one of the best low-cost dumbbell benches on the market.

To Sum Up

The LeikeFitness Weight Bench is a decent bench, and, importantly, it doesn’t suffer from the stability issues that so many budget dumbbell benches do.

It’s versatile, with 6 backpad positions, including full 90 degrees and a decline angle. They got a lot of things right.

Still, this bench isn’t perfect. Some people found the covering too loose, which isn’t ideal, and the bench’s height is too low for my liking, though it will suit shorter users.

The folding system is great, and the padding for the seat and backpad is a good thickness, which is important. It’s not too soft to cause stability issues. And it’s a nice looking bench too, it will suit most home gyms.

The Leike Weight Bench is one of those weight benches that nearly gets it right, but falls behind the top few benches in this price range because of its drawbacks, like its height in flat, the short backpad, and simple things like loose coverings on the seat and backpad, which is off-putting to hear.

So yes, a decent, sturdy dumbbell bench, but it has a few flaws, especially for taller users.
